trouble affording wedding

trouble affording wedding

My wedding is in 3 weeks, and my fiance just informed me that we don't have enough money for a limo service!! With everything else that had to be paid off (church, dj, hall, etc) plus our other bills, somehow the money slipped away and now we're stuck! My parents are already dishing out 5000 for our hall so I can't ask them!!! Plus, my fiance keeps claiming that his rents can't afford it either. Any suggestions!? I need help ASAP!!!

Can you take out a cash advance on a credit card?? Do you already have the limos booked??? If you don't why dont you ask someone in your family with a nice car if you can borrow it as your 'get away' vehicle?

my fiance is very big on not doing anything with our credit. i have been asking him to book the limo for weeks and he hasn't. and when he bought the rings today, he had to spend 200 more than he wanted to and mentioned that that was money for the limo! my worry is --- do i have to get a limo for the entire bridal party? i always thought that was proper .... would it be wrong of me to get something for just us two?

I think alot of people do get a limo for the bridal party but it is not required of you!!! Just make sure they know before hand!!!
Or if you really feel bad about it and money is that tight maybe you can rent a van for them just to do pick up & drop off

thats a good idea, thanks.
argh, this has just been driving me crazy!! i feel like i did all the wedding planning (that, and i was also bridezilla lol) and when money is tight he blamed it on me! so its a little frustrating that this is a situation.
but again thanks so much for the suggestion! i really appreciate it!

Well don't do a cash advance. Charge it or something else on your credit card. And then you will get married and you can repay it back with some of the $$ gifts you will receive. There will be at least a 28 day grace period where it will not accrue interest.

I read once in a magazine that Funeral homes rent out limos real cheap. It's an option if your desperate.

If you are getting married at the same place where you are having the reception I don't think you need a limo. If you're not I would get a limo and include the bridal party...not because you have to but because you want to make sure that they are all there together for your pictures. If the money is that tight and you need the limo I would put it on a 0 interest credit card (usually they'll give you 6 months) and pay it as soon as you get your wedding gifts.

How about at the rehersal dinner, asking those close to you to give your 'gifts' in cash. I did that for my sister for her wedding and she is going to do that for me in return. It helped her for her honeymoon and to pay the tips on her wedding day. It may just work out that way.

I would put it on a credit card. You can always pay it off after the wedding...

Good Luck

absolutely ... thast what we're doing ... borrowing from a family member (alot of $$) and will pay back off the presents we get. we're not trying to make $$, just bReak even!

My FH doesn't like credit card business either, but, we were in the same situation as you and needed the extra money.
What we did is, we opened 0% credit cards for 6 months, and put some money on there. We are confident that we will pay the balance in 6 months and that way will not have to pay interest.
Perhaps thats something you can do?
