I just started wedding dress shopping! It's so exciting, but I feel like I don't know anything. I went to Bridal Elegance yesterday and they gave me a flyer for a trunk show they are having in January. I've never even heard of a trunk show. Does anyone know what it is? Has anyone ever been to one?

I think a trunk show is when a designer shows their entire line. I could be wrong but that's what i've heard.

You can often get a discount on designer dresses from a specific line at trunk shows.

I bought my dress at a trunk show at Wedding Salon in Manhasset... I saved 15% off my dress, but you have to buy that day!

Well I've never seen a La Richi dress (the designer having the trunk show). Has anyone seen their stuff? BE said they will be getting in the dresses soon, but they don't have it yet. Are they nice? I would like to see their stuff before if I may have to buy at the show.

You should get in touch with some salons - Kleinfeld's, Wedding Salon of Manhasset, etc - and see which trunk shows they have coming up. Then you can attend the designers shows that you like and get a good deal on a dress
