Trunk Show

I got an email from Kleinfeld's regarding an upcoming trunk show for a designer that I actually like! ('Try on hot new gowns for cool, cool prices)
I have absolutely no idea what to expect though! First of all, I just began looking for dresses yesterday online, so this process is literally less than 24 hours old. What is a trunk show like? Is it crazy crowded/dirty/clastaphobic? What kinds of dresses do they have? HOW GOOD ARE THE PRICES? Do I need to RSVP? Any input would be greatly appreciated!!

Re: Trunk Show

Usually for trunk shows you have to make an appointment, its like a dress shopping appointment. Its not a free for all, usually the designer. You get a discount if you buy a dress from the designer and i believe you can get extra off if you buy a veil or accessories.

If you know you like that designer I would make an appointment and you never know you can get your dream dress at a discounted price :)

Re: Trunk Show

I haven't been to trunk shows at Kleinfeld's, but I have been to them elsewhere. You should definitely call to make an appointment.

The ones I went to were not dirty or claustrophobic. The designer or the designer's rep may be there. Often, they have more of that designer's dresses available to see/try on than the bridal salon may usually have available. The discount varies, but in my experience, was generally about 15%.

Re: Trunk Show

Trunk Shows are a great way to see the designer line, also they dresses are brand new from the next season.

The dirty dresses are usually at Sample Sales, which is when they sell all the floor samples, that people have tried on.

The plus with a trunk shows is the discount usually 10-12.5% off.

I got my dress at a trunk show and it was 10% off.

Re: Trunk Show

its like a regular dress shopping experience, only difference is the designer is usually there and if you buy one of that designers dress you get anywhere from 10-15% if its kleinfelds its 12.5%

I went to kleinfelds when there was a reem acra trunk show and i did try reem acra on, but was like a regular dress shopping experience. I didnt buy a reem acra that day i bought kenneth pool but while i had the reem acra dress their representative came over to me(reem couldn't make it that day)
