Trying to avoid kleinfelds - can you help

Trying to avoid kleinfelds - can you help

I dont mean to offend anyone but I've seen posts on here that they are pretty obnoxious there - well - more so than at other places. I don't think that would sit well with me. But I've been looking on the knot.com for dresses, and it seems that they are the only game in town. Does anyone know of any places that have a good selection of dresses.

I think the Manhasset Bridal salon might be OK.

Thanks!

I know some people haven't had great experiences here but I had a wonderful experience and just ordered my dress from Bridal Reflections in Carle Place.

Why don't you just try it out for yourself. I went there and was treated very well, I had a lovely sales assistant and other girls were helpful as well when it came to showing me veils etc. I didn't particularly care for the atmosphere there though, it was hectic with so many brides walking around in wedding dresses, but there are many people who have had fabulous experiences there. I ended up ordering my gown from the Wedding Salon of Manhasset.

I just ordered my gown last week from Bridal Reflections in Carle Place. They have a really nice selection of gowns, and my experience with them thus far has been pleasant. They were very nice and very helpful.

I would highly recommend the Bridal Building in Manhattan. It is on Broadway between 37th and 38th Street, they have several floors with Bridal shops - dresses, some shoes, tiara's, accessories. The dresses are extremely reasonable-wholesale prices ranging from $300 and up. they are very nice to work with, the building is only open to the public on Saturday from 9:00 to early afternoon. If you get there early at 9:00 you can park for free on 37th street. And when you walk into the building, you have to register your name and wedding date on a piece of paper and you are eligible to win a free trip (good for I think a year). No timeshare deal or hidden sales with the trip, I won the trip and asked about that. I accidentally found my wedding dress there two weeks ago when I went with a friend, they had dresses, that were ready there, buy as is for $295 and it was perfect!! I originally bought a white strapless evening dress that I was going to wear, but now I have a gorgous Bridal dress for a great price!!

I just picked up my dress from Kleinfeld on sat.

Out of all the things and people I had to deal with for my wedding Kleinfeld's was the BEST and easiest.

I HIGHLY recommend them!! BUT - you have to do what is good for you - I am just trying to stop the rumors.

RK Bridal has a huge selction of wedding gowns. I personally bought my dress at Kleinfelds and I was treated pretty well. There was one comment made that I didn't appreciate and I called the woman out, whoch quickly apologized and was extremely helpful from that point forward.

You shouldn't listen to what others say - especially when Kleinfleds has one of the best and longest living reputations around....

I had a wonderful experience there - and would highly recommend them....

With that said, you can try Flowerama On Myrtle Ave, Queens or Long Island or Bridal Reflections.....

Good LUck!

Personally, I hated the Kleinfeld experience. I only had a set budget and they kept bringing me dresses that were way out of my range. I ended up using Bridal Reflections in Carle Place and they even worked with me on the price! We got the BM dresses and my Mom's dress at Bridal Garden in Bethpage (top notch all the way)

Good luck with all of your dress shopping!

If you don't want to deal with Kleinfelds then you would not like Wedding salon of Manhasset... I went there for BM dresses and I wanted to walk right out after I heard how ladies were talking to the girls trying on and finding wedding dresses!!! I was flabbergasted!!

One thing I didnt mention about Kleinfelds is...I 've gone there b4 with other friends getting married, and it was pleasant...
however in my case i had a complete airhead assistant that ruined the entire experience for me...so i think its worth trying...just dont get stuck with the girl that helped me..

At Kleinfeld- try to work with Audrey or Margaret-- they are both fabulous and very 'motherly'..

I almost did not go to Birdal Couture in Manhasset based on what people said and their snooty reputation. I don't think I ever heard one good think about them on this site esp. But at last minute I gave in and went and found my wedding dress. I had never seen another dress like mine in any other store I had looked in and I had tried on over 50 dresses and couldn't find the one and was ready to give up. The salesperson I had wasn't snooty at all and neither were any of the seamstresses I dealt with. I had no problems with my dress or alterations. Although, I have to say many other people were snooty (workers and customers) but it was worth finding my dress!!!

So I say try it out....

I have to add I got my BM dresses at Bridal Couture in Manhasset - I have to say - I never want to see that place again as long as I live - it was the most horrible store - poorly run, they never had ANYTHING done on time.

I ordered them in Sept. 03 - their first fitting was May 11 - they JUST will finish them this week. There was more than one occassion where I had an appt and they just never did the dress.

One dress they ordered in the wrong size. And one seamstress said the rudest thing to one of my BM's ever!!!

I was there at least 10 times - what a nightmare.
