trying to look busy...help
Sorry for this vent and if its long, by FI's dad just stopped by without even a phone call. FI and his dad have a small business, but FI also has a regular job. His dad called 3 days ago that he was going to stop by and give Brian a check and Bri was to give him money. So I am sitting here checking out the boards and the bell rings, its his dad, I let him in and his dad started yelling at me about how he needed money and was questioning me as to why I dont know where it is. Then he decides to make himself at home. Takes his coat off, gets himself a drink, a snack, and then starts asking me what I am doing on the computer because he wants to go on it. We have a second one but it doesnt work. So he starts asking me why it doesnt work. I call Brian at work (well I call the yard and ask them to get Brian on the radio and tell him to call home) Brian calls me back after they got in touch with him and I tell him what happened and he rushes home. I feel bad that he rushed home but he knows how his dad is. (For example his father just showed up on Thursday when we werent home he has a key let himself in and Brian had the VCR set to tape something and his dad decided to go on the computer and change the channel and watch what he wanted)
He takes care of things with his dad, but now his dad is still here like he lives here. Brian told his dad you have to be conciderate someone else does live here.
His dad doesnt get along with his second wife and they have 2 children and his dad never gets piece and quiet in his own house. They have a computer but there is always someone on it and he is always getting nagged so he figures he can just show up here and go on our computer, no one bothers him and he can basically make himself at home.
So now I am trying to look busy on the computer because I know the minute I sign off his dad will jump right on and then he'll never leave.

Wow, I feel kind of sorry for him, he sounds lonely. I am sure he doesn't know he is being a pest. Try being sweet to him and let him online, you can go back on after he leaves.edited to say maybe FH can get him to call before coming in the future?

Re: trying to look busy...help
Thanks ladies. He has no idea he is being a pest and JennBaby your right he is lonely. Whenever he is at home he calls brian just to talk. I do feel bad for him, but the times he is here, he is here for hours. I just want to tell him 'dude go home'
Brian told him you need to call ahead, you just cant stop by like this even if you are in the neighborhood, someone else does live here.
So now I am just surfing the boards.
Jennbaby if I let him go on, he literally wont leave till 10:00. I have no problem going on after him, its just when he goes on he doesn't leave.

Thanks for your responses ladies

Yes we have looked into getting the other computer fixed, but its an old computer and it needs a new drive thing. Brian tried to put a new hub in it over the weekend, but it was too high and the computer didnt recognize it. He called his uncle who is a computer wiz and his uncle suggested trying to install an updated MS Dos version, but that didnt help. I want to throw the other computer out the window and listen for how big of a boom it will make. Its one of those computers that is good to have around, but when its broke its sometimes just better to toss it and get a new one. But we are not in a financial situation to buy a new one at the moment.
His dad fell asleep on the couch and he's snoring
