How did you decide your wedding date? Is it a random date or does it have a significant meaning?

We got engaged on Sept, 2, 2010. I knew I wanted over a year since I am a planner and have dreamed of planning my wedding for years and wanted to enjoy planning... I picked April 27 for a few reasons. It was a Friday and I saved a good amount per head and I will be the only party my hall is having that day. It is the start of Spring and I have a good chance of having a warm day (I didn't want heat or the cold).

We got engaged on June 16, 2010 and I wanted to get married in July or Aug of 2011. Because FH is in Med School their schedule wouldnt work out to be married in the summer. The best time would be after he matched in Feb/March. So we chose March 31. I am happy that we will have a longer engagement than I initially wanted. I feel so much less stress about the whole planning process.

We decided to have a long engagment for money reasons... we wanted to be able to have the wedding of our dreams and that meant lots of savings!
I chose the date bc its FIL's anniversary and I thought it was cute!

After we got married we decided that we wanted to get married in April or May. Since we got engaged in August we thought that having less than a year to plan would be tough so we decided to go with 2012 instead of 2011. I am glad we did.
We did not have a particular date in mind. When we first went to Crest Hollow we asked her what dates the Plaza Room was available on Friday and Saturday in April and May. We picked from those dates.
Although once FH realized that April 20th was 4/20 he was sold. April 20 is actually my grandfather's birthday who passed away a few years ago so I liked that as well!

Its a random date that the RH had available... it was either that or in the summer but FH doesnt work well with the heat so we figured maybe it would be a little cooler in May!

We started dating on 5/4/08 We got engaged on 5/4/10
So FH said why not get married on our anniversary, it falls on a Friday...
So we are getting married 5/4/12

Once we got engaged, I knew I wanted an April/May wedding which led to having it in 2012. Then we realized 5 de Mayo was falling on a Saturday in 2012 so decided we can have our wedding/ 5 de Mayo celebration with our families that date. Since we both come from Mexican Families. Well the Price difference btwn that Saturday and the Friday b/f May 4 is what sold us on choosing May 4th instead. We have a late party so we will still technically still be celebrating 5 de Mayo.
I also originally wanted Friday, May 25 (beginning of labor day wknd) b/c the #25 has been a constant lucky # in my life and our relationship. And then I realized our date makes the #25 as well: (5x4=20) (2+0+1+2=5) = 25!!!!! So it all worked out :)

We first planned around my deployments, we knew I was going to be gone until June 2011, and I figured I would be sent out again in the summer of 2012, so we had that middle period. I didn't want to have a winter wedding so I thought May would be a safe bet. Our engageversary is the 10th, and the 12th fell on a Saturday, so here we go!

We wanted a Friday in September towards the earlier part of the month. September 14th is FH's birthday so we tried to avoid having the wedding on the same day, so that left us with September 7th.

we got engaged on july 8, 2010...when we started looking at rh halls we were thinking about doing a winter wedding...when jt threw out a june date i was sold..ive always wanted a summer wedding!!

We originally wanted November but went with March because it us 20 pp cheaper than November. It is late March so I'm hoping for no snow!

We haven't booked anything yet, but are hoping to book the RH this weekend! Bellport has June 30th open, and I liked the idea of the 30th because we started dating on the 10th, and got engaged on the 20th, so 10 20 30, haha.

I always pictured myself getting married in the summer because it is ideal for my job (i'm a special ed teacher)in terms of taking the 2 week honeymoon we wanted to take. Then I started to reconsider that....
RHs are more expensive in the summer and I started thinking about how much I loved the fall/winter and how nice it would be to have our wedding during that time, even if it meant taking our honeymoon a bit later if we had to. In the end, we were both willing to compromise the time of year and be able to choose a nicer venue!
I thought 12/1/12 had a nice ring to it and FH agreed. Not too deep into the possibility of bad weather (knock on wood) and still early enough to not interfere with the holidays.
At this point, i don't even consider our date a compromise! Our RH looks amazing all decorated for the holidays and i'm sooo excited!

we figured to give time and to plan and to raise some funds .. 2012 .. we were thinking spring.fall .. i wanted to be married sooner than later ..so a spring it was.. when we finally found our rh we saw what dates were available .. fh insisted on a sat night wedding so price wise april was 20 pp cheaper than may and we got the latest saturday they had left .. april 21 .. which sat is also good bc you are the only wedding .. not one of my top priortities but it doesnt hurt =) ... we were happy and what i thought was cute day is 21 year is 12 made me smile =) cuz i always though one of those 12/12/12 weddings would be cool

We got engaged Dec 30, 2010. We knew we wanted a spring or fall wedding not a winter or summer wedding, and I didn't want to wait till Fall 2012 so I started looking in early spring 2012 (I figured April could be cheaper than May/June).
I was looking at Fridays and the 8th was automatically out because of Easter and the next was the 13th...Friday the 13th. I knew that my fiance's brother and sister in law were married on a Friday the 13th in October of 2006 so I thought it would be good luck do also do it on a Friday the 13th! It also works out as the Easter Flowers will still all be out at the church so it will look beautiful and we could even save a little money!!

We got engaged August 20, 2010 and knew that we wanted to wait some time to save money and we knew we wanted to get married in the summer since we are both teachers. We always joked that we wanted to get married on our dating anniversary-it just so happened that if we waited until 2012 our dating anniversary fell on a Friday. Since the date has significant meaning to us, we decided we were getting married Friday, July 27, 2012.

Sunday, may 27th:
well FH is military, and they usually get mon and tues off for memorial day.
Also, it's fleet week. so i figured his friends from NC can drive up sat, we get married sun, and enjoy the city and fleetweek during their extra days off.
