Today's question is inspired by the idea of the sweetest gift! Sometimes what seems like a small gesture can mean the world to someone - specifically if it's coming from your FH....and a gift can be defined as anything - words, an item, emotion, etc.
Describe a 'gift' that FH has given you that you still cherish to this day and explain why it means so much to you
Within the first week of knowing eachother - we already made a big effort to see eachother every single day. FH calls me around 6pm that one evening and says he can't make it because he has to do something. Of course, I was totally bummed out. 10 minutes later he calls me and says 'Hey I never asked you, what's your favorite number?' I told him 3 randomly and because I was in such a bad mood because I wouldn't get to see him I kept the convo short
An hour later, he calls again and tells me to go downstairs to see something. He was standing by the entrance, with three beautiful red roses in his hand I still have one of the roses in a frame from over 2 years now...Why was it so precious to me? Because from that day on, I knew he was the man I'd be with for the rest of my life. Even a small gesture as three roses, it meant the world to me knowing he also understood that something like that could make me happy. Every few weeks now, he gets me some kind of flower - it's almost become a tradition and I adore him for it!

For our first Christmas together he got me a promise ring with the birth stone color of the month that we started dating.. He said he didn't want to get it with my Bday but with the month that he started his life with the person he is going to spend the rest of his life with!

This may sound silly, but the toothbrush he bought me to keep at his place. Obviously I don't use it anymore, but when he bought it for me, I knew he was the one and how serious our relationship was going to be (mind you it was only after two weeks of dating he bought this for me).

I still have a watch that he gave me for our first Valentine's day. I absolutely love it and he bought it without knowing if I had a watch already or not. I didn't. I just felt like he went through all that effort to get me a watch and we had barely been dating a month.

for our 2 year anniversary he gave me a ring that he bought at walmart. you know the ones that are the fake diamonds that you can buy for $9 at the jewelry counter? Ya that
he put in in a small silver ring box and wrote on the cover 'maybe one day'
that was what he always use to say to me whenever i asked him if he was going to marry me. maybe one day. maybe one day I was soooo sick of hearing it but its just cute that he says it like that.

There is actually 2.
One is the ring FH bought me on our first cruise together. It was actually the first piece of jewelry I have ever received from a guy. The ring happened to only fit my ring finger so FH had said that we'll just keep that there until it's replaced. I wore it every single day up until the day he proposed.
The second wasn't really a gift but FH had gotten me a flower and there was this little tiny bear attached to it that said 'I Love You'. I actually keep this bear in my bag at all times. I think of it as my good luck charm and seriously anytime that I have not had it on me something has gone wrong in my day.

1. A sapphire and diamond necklace for my girlie side.
2. A Notre Dame Brady Quinn jersey for my sports addict side.
3. A Italla Alvar Aalto vase for my design side.

Before FH and I were dating (when we were still friends though clearly liked each other), we were getting coffee at a Starbucks and some guy came buy to sell roses, and guilted him into buying two for me... they ended up being like $15!!!!!! I still have one to this day, and whenever we pass one of those guys selling flowers like that or someone comes up to him when we are together we crack up.
He also once got me an ice cream maker, which is pretty sweet (literally!)

A few years ago, FH bought me a Donadio cameo when he was in Italy. Its so perfect....its a pink shell cameo with gold around it and set in silver. I love it for a few reasons...its one of the first gifts that FH truly picked out for me on his own without any hints from me, and its also from Naples which is where my family is from (he's Sicilian).
I love it so much its the inspiration for my wedding colors

Good Question: I keep mostly everything that FH has given me over the years. But my most cherished gift and memory was our first Valentine's day together and I remember telling him I never really had a valentine. My birthday is the day before Valentine's Day and when I was in school, my birthday almost always fell on the day of teh Valentine's Day dance. And I never had a bf in JHS or HS so I never had a date for these dances plus people would give out their Valentine gifts to their gfs and bfs on my birthday esp when Valentines day fell on a weekend so I would watch everyone get chocolate and roses on my birthday and I would be empty handed. It made me always resent Valentines day. So on our first Valentines Day together, Sammy surprised me at work with a box of heart shaped chocolate, 2 dozen roses a heart covered stuff dog and a card that read 'You will always be my valentine' . It was very sweet and makes me smile to this day.

this is gonna sound stupid - a stuffed animal - puppy.
When FH and I first started dating i was in undergrad and going to school full time at night. I used to get out of class close to 10 pm and would have to take the train from manhattan to queens. FH hated the idea of me taking the train so late. One night after class ended (this was probably around two weeks into our relationship) he showed up outside my school with flowers and the puppy. I never took the train home again after that

When we 1st started dating i had mentioned i wanted a white gold collar like necklace.
He came over one night and laid out 5 necklaces on my bed and said ok choose one!
Omg they were all gorgeous and i had a hard time choosing but i did and i almost never take it off 8 years later.
FH is the king of gifts. Hes so thoughtful. I have so many amazing things from him.
My other fav gift was my beloved ferret Niko whos been gone for 2 years. He was like our 1st child together :(

Hmmmm, I'd have to say the scrapbook he made me. He went to Michael's got a book, cut out pictures, made the pictures dance with each other, bought the stickers, put us in a wedding dress and tux on the last page with the sticks. It's got glue all over it and i love it!!!! What guy does that?! My guy, that's who.. :swoon:

my diamond earrings ....TWICE!!! He bought my first pair for christmas a few years ago and I looooooooved them. Then one day I forgot to take them out before a soccer game, and of course got hit in the side of the head and lost one on the field We never found it, but that next christmas when I came back from being home for christmas, he was in the airport with a new little box with earrings in it

My PUPPY!!! Best christmas present ever!
I always wanted a puppy for christmas as a kid and FH made it happen
It was a big step in our relationship because the first few months was like raising a newborn!
