The applying process was only a week. He was number 1 on all the lists. He put down the 2 nearest airports where we will be living (he put sarasota and fort myers)
The letters about the transfers will be starting to get mailed on Tuesday. I have no idea if there is an order of how they are doing it, but hopefully we'll know soon if he got the transfer.
When we go in June to visit our friends he is also taking the Sheriff's exam.
So please pray and keep your fingers and toes crossed we hear soon about the transfer and its all good.

He would go as soon as they tell him. I am going to stay up here for a little to get things in order and start shipping things down
I want to officially be down there Aug 12.
The only reason I am putting going down asap is because we'll be living with our friends for a little and they have 4 cats and I am severly allergic to the cats. I know I'll be taking allergy shots, but if I can avoid being down there for a few months then I will do my best.

I cant wait till the winters, I am definatly going to be posting lots and lots of pics of palm trees and the pool
We already started to pack some things up and shipping down. We spoke to our friends the other day and they made room in their garage for our stuff and started looking at storage places and used cars for me.
I am so nervous. I hope it gets here soon and that its all good news.

We saw the bar we want to put on the lanai.
Warm weather year round, sun, beaches, palm trees, tans, and lots of drinks.....ahhh its like a permanent vacation

I travel through Ft Myers all the time-my parents are down there. What a change from LGA or JFK!!

I agree its a definate change. We fly into Fort Myers when we visit and its so nice.
FL is just a completely different lifestyle then NY. I cant wait to be apart of it.
Life is so much better down there. People dont stab you in the back, people are nice in the stores, the streets are clean, all the houses are brand new custom built, pools, beaches, taxes are very low, you have so much land, huge house, great stores, great streets with no pot holes, no snow....
We cant wait to be down there. I wish we could be there tomorrow

Poeple don't stab you in the back in Florida? is there a law that prohibits that down there? LOL! I think you have backstabbers anywhere.. you probably haven't been down there long enough to come across any.. not that I wish that upon you or anyone .. and as for nice people, to be honest, all there is, for the most part, in Florida are old people and hicks.. not that I have anything against that BUT, still.. and I don't feel that people down there are nicer whatsoever.. most of them, even though a huge % of them are former NYer's, aren't very nice..

I have to completely agree with Marcella. Florida is a great deal transplanted NY'ers who have had a bit of direct sunlight to the brain. I refuse to let anyone tell me any place is better than NY!
And I don't think you'll really know that there are no backstabbers there until you get there.
