The applying process was only a week. He was number 1 on all the lists. He put down the 2 nearest airports where we will be living (he put sarasota and fort myers)
The letters about the transfers will be starting to get mailed on Tuesday. I have no idea if there is an order of how they are doing it, but hopefully we'll know soon if he got the transfer.
When we go in June to visit our friends he is also taking the Sheriff's exam.
So please pray and keep your fingers and toes crossed we hear soon about the transfer and its all good.

Marcella I wasnt talking about direct people. I was talking about corporations. Corporatations down there are A LOT different then they are up here.
The companies down there are a lot nicer then the ones up here. I've been talking to a lot of HR people down there and they are going above and beyond for me and they dont even know me and have never met me.
I've called someone and they called me back the same day just to confirm they have received my call and though they dont have an answer for me at the moment they will call me as soon as they do and guess what they call me the same day.
Companies up here have given me nothing but headaches.
My very dear friends have been there for 2 years and have nothing but happiness and all their dreams come true for them down there. My friend loves her job from the moment she started. She loves going into work and looks forward to her day. I would rather deal with people like that then people up here who will stab you in the back and step on you to get ahead and then act like they dont know you when they get to the top.

Misty: believe me I am hardcore NYer, I wouldnt let anyone tell me any place is better then NY, but when we were down there and were talking to a builder and heard the prices of the land and taxes I felt that was a lot better then NY. The houses down there are brand new and cost so much less then a house up here.
To me that is a lot better of a future for us then NY.
My HS had metal detectors, 40 students in a classroom, split schedules, overcrowding, fights everyday, the nearest police precient on speed dial and constant police around the school. I dont want that for my kids when we have them. I know there are places in long island we could go too, but the taxes and the houses are too expensive.

Well I have to say that I LOVE NY but honestly I think that once you leave here it is a different slower less stressed lifestyle. I think when people relax they tend to be a little nicer. I think that applies to a lot of places outside of NY. I know I lived in Nashville when I was younger and I thought that they people were more sincere and friendly. This is JMO.
Hey chippa - Hmmmmm warm weather - think maybe FH and I could come for a short visit - say for hmmm 3-5 months every winter?
