Re: Turks & Caicos Anyone?

Thank you! I sent in a request for a brochure to be sent to me from Parrot Cay - I heard great things about that place. However, I think it's a lot of $$! But we'll see! Thanks again!

Re: Turks & Caicos Anyone?

I vacationed in T&C about five or six years ago...my boyfriend at the time won a trip to Club Med Turkoise. While we weren't really into the Club Med 'scene', we absolutely looooved the island of Provo.

The beach at Grace Bay is just magnificent-powder soft sand, beautiful blue water, clean.. We found the island to be safe and welcoming. Great snorkling (didn't dive there).

I have friends that go to Beaches every year-they have nothing but good things to say about the resort, but they travel with a big crowd that includes lots of children. I think it would make a nice vacation, but maybe not a romantic honeymoon.

I've heard good things about Point Grace resort which is on the same beach on Provo. Also, the Meridian Club on Pine Cay is supposed to be out of this world. Not sure of $$$, though.

Hope this helps!

Re: Turks & Caicos Anyone?

http://www.allegroturksandcaicos.com/

That's the website for the Allegro. They allow children but its not gearded towards them. Beaches has LOTS of kids so that's why we stayed away from there..we like kids but don't want them on our honeymoon. The allegro has a casino (small, i think) and has 7 or 8 restaurants, all sorts of activities and a spa. Hope that helps!

Re: Turks & Caicos Anyone?

I just came back last week from Beaches, but we honeymooned with my 6 year old son.
The island itself was beautiful but I wouldnt rant and rave about this place for a honeymoon if you didnt have kids.
Please forum mail me with any questions you have

Re: Turks & Caicos Anyone?

Thank you so much everyone! I will definately look into all of these places. I guess Beaches is out! It's a shame because those Sandals places have such good reps. Maybe I'll just settle on the Bahamas like planned.

We'll see.

Re: Turks & Caicos Anyone?

Hi! Have you considered Anguilla? There are several upscale resorts, several moderately priced hotels, yet, no all inclusive resorts. I have been to the Allegro in T&C and I agree with most of the other posts. Grace Bay is gorgeous, but, in my opinion, the Allegro is not the ultimate honeymoon destination. T&C does not have as many easilty accessible restaurants and beaches as Anguilla. Anguilla is not a very lush island, yet the beaches are spectacular and there are plenty of restaurants to choose from. It all depends on your budget. Check out some of the Anguilla websites. Enjoy!
