Tuxedos!

Tuxedos!

We're going on Saturday. Was planning on going to Men's Warehouse in Forest Hills. Is Men's Warehouse the best place to go to - in terms of price and also quantity of things available?

Price and quality are great at MWH. I have heard some neg. things about customer service and whatnot but everything always seemed to work out in the end.

We'll be going to MWH in Forest Hills tomorrow to do the tuxes!

FH and i just went there sat afternoon...they were pretty busy but helpful. They only need 4 weeks for the tuxedos so we ended up not ordering them saturday (and fyi, FH assumed he could try a tux on...but you cant they dont carry them there; you pick it out of a book). Anyway, we got the mail on monday and had a coupon to register your wedding at mens warehouse and save $40 off EACH tux rental so FH went last night and registered the bridal party (but didnt order anything). maybe see if you can get your hands on one of those coupons (or mention you have one and left it home) and see if they will honor it....

You can't try on the tuxedos??? Hm, that's not good at all. Is this just this location, or all of them in general?

No, MWH does not let you try on until closer to the wedding - they only need 4 weeks and will measure you before they are ordered. If you are buying, then that's a different story.

Hm, that's kind of pointless for us to go then if we can't try them. I know FH will refuse to get something until he tries on different styles (and I don't blame him for it)...

Yea I don't know how other places work but it seems to be the norm when you are renting vs. buying.

Re: Tuxedos!

Does anyone know the average price of a tuxedo or nice suit from Men's Warehouse (for purchasing)?

OR

A place where people can try on the suits before they're rented?

Re: Tuxedos!

we were surprised by the 'no try on' thing too which is why i mentioned it.

when FH went to mens warehouse last night, the lady gave him the name of a store that has a lot of the same styles that they carry and said he can go there to try them on and then just do the wedding party with mens warehouse. its a pain but its what he needs to do...we have people in the BP that are out of state so they need to order them from a chain.

i dont remember the name of the store, but its on queens blvd near sam ash in forest hills if that helps...

Thanks! I'll check it out.

I don't think I want to go to Men's Warehouse if this is the case then. I'd rather find another place where we can actually try them on.

Cateverri - do they do try-ons at your place? :)

First they take their measurements, when they bring the correct size then at that time they can obviously try them on.

My FH went to MWH and when they told him that they didn't have any tux to try on, he ran out of there...lol
FH is like a women, he needs to see how he is going to look before he spends money on it. Instead he went to The Tux Shop in Queens Blvd. I believe the groomens are paying $140 for the rental not including the shoes. Of course he's is free.

Try Bonaventure Tuxedos. FH totally tried on different jackets/vests to see what we liked best. We thought they were great there.

we got the same mail yesterday and that's exactly what we plan on doing. We are just registering the guys and then they can go in later to get measured and order.

You can also go online to MensWarehouse.com and build the tux ahead of time. That's what FH and I did.
