I have a question. My BM dresses are two shades of pink...a really pale pink and then a darker pink. While I am leaving the tux selection to my FH, my mother informed me yesterday that she is going to make my father wear a pink vest under his tux. Her dress is pink too. She thinks it's a wonderful idea to have all the guys wear pale pink vests under their tuxes. I do not. I know that my FH has been leaning toward gray or silver...something along those lines, but not pink. I told my mother that I don't want my father wearing pink, but that I want his tux to be coordinated with the ones the boys are wearing. She insists she wants him in pink. Today I told my father what she is planning and he just laughed. Anyway, I told my mother that I would ask all of you for your opinions and she agreed to go along with the consensus. Thanks!

Down with pink!
IMO pewter would look best but charcoal and black are good seconds.

Re: Tuxes
Oh, no please don't do that to your GM. I guarantee more than one will be unhappy about wearing pink. (Personally, I think it's trendy, but well, some guys do not.) My friend put her GM in celadon, and they were walking around all day saying they looked like Kermit the Frog. I say go with grey/silver - much classier and less likely to elicit complaints. JMO. Good luck!

Re: Tuxes
Thank you, everyone. I personally think gray, pewter or charcoal are nice choices. Now I just have to change my mother's mind. Wish me luck.

Re: Tuxes
Any very good tux place will take your side on this. the owner of the tux place I'm using is very good and has a lot of good ideas. He would say a pink vest is very 80's and is much more prom-like. That's why the tux places still carry them.
This is your wedding not your mom's, IMHO, she had one already. It should be what YOU want.

Re: Tuxes
I went last night to get FH a tux for his christmas party and he got a really nice platnum colored vest and long tie. So after seeing it I would go with the gray not pink. Good Luck!!

Hahaha... Kelly, you should go with gray, or charcoal... I love the way a medium to darker shade of gray goes with pink.

Re: Tuxes
I just want to thank everyone for their responses. As soon as I started reading them to my mother, she changed her mind. I'm sure my father's laughter had a little something to do with it too. She loved the idea of charcoal or silver.
