TWOTY

Original post by LIWeddings

No, this isn't what you think it is.

I had an idea and would like your feedback.
Please only answer/vote if you plan on going to TWOTY.

Should we;
1) Post the tickets for sale around 10pm on a random weeknight and whoever gets them, gets them?
2) Allow everyone who wants to go to TWOTY register over a 24 hour period of time - then have the computer select 200 people randomly?

I thought of this in an attempt to be fair to everyone who would like to go.

Either way there will be one table only for newlyweds.

I know I really have no say in this since I can't go anyway (unless you want me to wear that awesome Lazaro gown again...just think about it Ron..) but I kinda like the random idea. I think the whole popularity post thing is getting silly and even if you went by post count there are people with crazy high counts that still won't get to go if you put the tickets on sale at certain times. Go with the random drawing. It's the most fair! Just my opinion!

I voted 10pm - I think the random drawing could pick people that either dont post a lot or just have an account set up to look up info. Not to say they dont have a right to go but brides who do actively post and are helpful on the site would then get shafted.

Most people are home by 10pm (from work) so i think there would be more of a pool of people.

I think a happy medium would be to set up a random computer drawing where only a SELECT pool of brides qualify for entry into the drawing,ie only brides with X amount of posts and their last post was made w/in the past 90 days or something to that effect. Then those user names are put into the pool and the computer can randomly select.

Re: TWOTY

If people have to register to enter the random draw, and have a minimum post count of 231 (thanks Ron!) I think it's totally fair, they have to put SOME effort in to register and get to 231.

I can do either, but I vote random (in case anyone missed that )

Here's something to really start thinking about.
Please decide before hand if you are coming alone or with your FH. This way you are sure if it is one or two tickets. There are no refunds or substitutions, said differently you can not give your ticket to anyone and only brides to be and their FH are invited to this event.

generally, speaking, how much will tickets be sold for? I know I would love to go but I have to see if I have room in my budget for something like this. Is it also normally held in Long island?

Last year they were $30 each ticket... i would guess they are going to be around that general price again...

i think the random computer idea is great... some people can't get on at 10:00pm so how is it fair to them?

I think that 10pm (maybe on a week day) would be the best way to go!!!! I think if people want to go bad enough, they will find a way to get on the computer at the right time!

Agreed. My FH sees me on this site so much that he could probably navigate it with ease. Worst comes to worse, can't girls at work get their FH's to log them in and purchase tickets? Think scrappy, people!

Exactly Ash!!!! I would so have FH or my mama log in to get me the tickets if I wasn't by a computer!!!!!!!!!

I don't think that's very fair. Just because a bride doesn't post as often as everyone elsedoesn't mean she should have less of a chance of attending.

I agree with this as well. I'm sure others are in the same boat as I am. I really appreciate this site and find it to be a great resource and just because I don't post as much as others doesn't mean I should be denied an opportunity to go to TWOTY

Just my opinion

If people want to go, they will make sure they do whatever it takes to go. It shouldnt be left up to luck.

That is exactly why i dont think there should be a post count increase in order to be eligible for tickets...
