UGH I'm going over the readings .... and...

I'm actually annoyed with the versus in the book we pick from. SO MANY Of them are about women being inferior and being a servant. I'm just not into that crap!! SORRY!! I know it's all religion and taboo to talk about that sort of stuff... but ugh I just hate reading things like 'wives should be subordinate to their husbands' and' 'the husband is the head of his wife'.

I know I'm probably opening a debate door. But I just can't agree with those things. I'm not even the hugest women's right's person... I'm totally cool with stay at home mom's who take care of the house and yada yada... but to me a TEAM doesn't mean subordination and having one member be the head. I feel it should be equal.

I didn't like that about the reading either. One of the ones in our book was about how man was lonely so God put all these different animals on earth to give him companionship and when that just wasn't working for the man he created the woman to be his companion!!! Oh real nice he tried animals first and then us! Dumb story!

I think B-2 is the animal one. I do like D-9 a WHOLE lot though.

So far I have B-7 and either D5 or D9 (thanks to you! )

I felt the same way when we were planning. So for the Gospel, we used the Beatitudes. The priest went through every single one of them during the homily! It was the longest ceremony ever.

One of the groomsmen even muttered 'Blessed be the long winded' when it was over!

Haha!! Too funny!! I remember beatitudes during CCD class!! haha!!!

Most of these options just disgust me.

obviously I have issues with the Catholic Church. Interesting that I'm marrying a Deacon's son!! haha!!

Oh and PS Church!! I'm the boss NOT him!! haha!! Take that and your women inferiority crap!!!

A smart woman just let's the guy think he's in charge. That should be in one of those versus!! haha!!

That is hysterical!

I really didnt stress over the readings. Half the people at my mass probably didnt even listen to what was being read!!!!!

I think a great idea would be to personalize your prayer of the faithful. We did that and so many people liked it! We tied in DH's profession and mine and soo many people thought that was really sweet.

Just a thought!!
