Ugh. Just found out my cousin did the same favors as me!

My cousin got married this past weekend and I didn't attend her wedding because we had already RSVP'd yes to my FH's friend's wedding. Anyway, I just found that she did the same favors I'm doing -- wine bottles. She did a Chardonnay and a Cabernet and I'm doing a Pinot Grigio and a Merlot (of a better wine) BUT... I'm only doing half bottles and she did full bottles.

She had a smaller (day) wedding than I did but still, we will have approximately 30 of the same guests....I can't change my favor now, I just finalized the order last week. I really can't afford much more... is there anything I can do to spruce up my favor? Should I do CD's or chocolates too or just not sweat it? I afraid I'm going to look cheap now...

I wouldn't worry about it. I'm sure there will be many things that will distinguish your day from your cousins and your guest memories will reflect as much.

That sucks. I hate it when people copy me too. But I really wouldn't worry about it, b/c really the 1/2 bottles are PERFECT the full ones are just really over doing it.

I was in the same situation with my SIL & BIL they got married a few months before us and I planned on doing bottles of wine. Everyone knew it, then she went around and did full bottles of wine. I had finalized everything and also got upset. So I spruced it up with an ice bucket, a candle, and some matches. I got the candle at a .99 store I thinkit was 4 for 1.00 got the matches my place was giving us for the cocktail party and put it all in the ice bucket. It was a cool gift and everybody loved it and didnt thnk twice about just receivng the bottle of wine. from bt BIL?SIL wedding.

Or something you can do is if you are handy. Melt chocolate and make place card lollipops and attach the placecards to the lollipops standing up on styrofoam. It is really a cool effect.

Just dont sweat it once its over nobody will remember.

I wouldn't sweat it eaither, noone will say anything. If you do want to add something to make yours stand out and different I would do something related: wine coaster (coaster for a bottle of wine), bottle stopper, wine cuff, corkscrew - something like that.

I would definately not change your favor!!!!!

The mini wine bottles are SO CUTE! PLUS i think they will stand out more than the average wine bottle! I don't think i have ever heard anyone say they have had tooo much wine either!

I do think like you and would want to add but it is NOT necessary. Yeah you could put things on it like ribbon but i wouldn't want to take away from the elegance of the wine bottle itself..IMO don't change a thing!

I wouldn't worry about it! My friends did CDs and we are doing them anyway... my cousin did too, actually. Just do what makes you happy

I wouldn't worry about it. Don't stress yourself over the favor!

If you feel like you need to add something, I do like your wine charm idea.

You could do them very inexpensive, if you but the supplies at michaels or acmoore and put them together yourself. Maybe you could tie them around the neck of the bottle. Just a idea. Good luck!

Don't change it. Honestly, no one cares that you gave the same favor, most people don't even notice this. In fact, I'm willing to bet that any one that likes wine will just say 'Great, more wine!'

BTW - I love the half wine bottles....where did you get yours?
