Ughhhh
After every productive weekend, I call FMIL to let her know what is going on with the wedding which she appreciates. She knows it is difficult doing this from a distance.
When we started this planning, we spoke with our parents and told them what we were hoping to do, and each set wrote us a check since his rents live in Maryland and it makes it difficult for different people to deal with different vendors- with all the running around, I felt that I should be the point person writing checks, keeping track of everything, etc.
So last night, I said oh- we sent out the STDs! And she goes, oh yeah I meant to talk to you about that. My husband is very upset that we had to cut some of our friends (we each got 80 people for a total of 160) so how much is it per head? He's going to write you a check so he can invite them.
I said, um- I live on a budget. We had a budget in August, and that is what we are working with. We booked a RH that seats 120 on the upper level, and that is all we want there. We don't want seating on the dance floor since we have a buffet set up in that area. If you wanted a bigger wedding you should have been more involved in the prices (we emailed all the prices of the various RH possibilities out). We are sticking within the original budget and it is too late to change now! We would need a different RH. A second DJ (we are only having one DJ/MC). I want to cry.
I have a hunch that she is the mom that will photocopy the invites and give them to her friends and put us in a horrible position.
Sorry- had to vent.
