ughhhh i'm so freakin torn.......

went to Thatched Cottage today for a tasting w/the rents and I/they loved the place. The food was excellent btw.

so i went after to Fox Hollow and absolutely fell in love with it. I don't care to much for the grounds b/c there aren't much of it, but the room for the ceremony, CH room and Winter Pavillion room are basically what i'm looking for.

i have no idea how to decide between the 2.

Thatched has an amazing outside ceremony site and CH plus the Reception room is bigger BUT read my description of Fox Hollow above. They're both around the same price too. Fox Hollow also doesn't have a tasting and I don't believe the restaurant food is the same

Help me please :D

maybe you should go back to both places with FH and see what his reactions to both places are to help make the decision

i know, i'm not much help

hmm that's a toughy. my only advice is to just sit down and day dream about your big day from start to end with both places (i know it sounds corny but I'm a big day dreamer!). now, which one seems more comfortable and a reflection of you?

Fh wasn't too thrilled about the Thatched and has basically said whatever I want, book it . He is no help lol. I'm bringing him to Fox Hollow this weekend to show him though.

i know it's really gonna come down to me picking it...grrrr haha

I booked the Fox Hollow. Although the food is not the same, it is the same chef. I know PLENTY of people who have been to events there and rave about the food! So try not to let that get in the way, I know its hard, it was for me too!

i am partially to the thatched cottage. we did the food tasting and it was great. (did you try the raspberry champagne??) the menu selections and all the choices you get for the price are great. i mean 30 passed hors d'oeuvres at the CH!!! 7 entrees at the reception. i've talked to people who have been their for weddings and they have all raved about it.
i have never been to fox hollow tho, so i really cant say anything about it.

The WGP is the reason I booked FH and I like the outside too, and their photo studio... best of both worlds.. .so I'm biased, but I'm going to say Fox Hollow! :)

umm we downed 2 bottles of the raspberry champagne and they didn't ask us if we wanted another . we could've kept going with it haha

the amount of food is ridiculous there but there's little tradeoffs. You can only come an hour before the ceremony to have pics taken (other places you have hours) and the stupid seafood boat they wouldn't budge on price per person. Also I would be dead set on wanting to have the ceremony and CH outside...what if it rained??

the hour is a little short but i figured we can take pictures somewhere eles beforehand or during hte cocktail hour for a little bit because its an hour and a half so we have that extra time too...

they have a little chapel like two buildings down from the thatched cottage, if it rains they use that for the ceremony. we didnt see inside but it looked cute from the outside.

call me a naysayer...but it seems to me that you havent found 'THE' place. I had no doubts in my mind about my RH. From the first time we walked in we both knew it was perfect.

I honestly was ready to sign on the dotted line yesterday for Thatched but i still HAD to see Fox Hollow (and still have to see Swan Club) and I just so happened to really like it. I know when FH comes back with me he's going to like it.

If you've ever been to Flowerfields (we absolutely loved it but can't afford it), Fox Hollow is the closest thing to it IMO (Winter Garden room).

I also feel an hour isn't going to persuede me to sign a contract and fork over $20,000 lol. I want to keep going back and looking if I have to haha.

and as for naysayer? no freakin way. i need to hear honesty,negativity, etc, etc. it puts me in my place sometimes

You should take a look at the Swan Club. It's my fav!

Did you go with your FH? Take him, that can help. Also if you are lookimg for beautiful grounds and rooms try Westbury Manor and The Swan Club.
I went to The Fox Hollow and loved it but, the room I wanted was too small for me and I kick myself for not going to Thatched Cottage because of the grounds.
