One of my college roommates is getting married next year. She just sent me a pic of the dresses that she wants me to wear as a BM. It is just - ugly. I hate saying that... I can't tell her that because she loves it. I thought she was joking at first. But she isn't. It is totally her thing.
I do NOT want to spend the kind of money necessary for this dress - but I love her and I don't want to upset her.

Sorry about the dress. But I guess if she's really excited about them, then you probably shouldn't say anything. Maybe after the wedding is over you can take it to a seamstress and see if there is some way to alter it so that you can wear it again?

Can you post the picture? Now I wanna see it! Seriously, though, I am sure there are people who think MY BM dress is ugly - we all have different taste, it stinks, but don't burst her bubble, just grin and bear it!

if it's what she picked, just suck it up and wear it. it's her choice for that day. your BMs might not like your choice of dress as well! don't ask her to change it or anything, just wear it with a smile

Could you get together with the other bridesmaid and get their agreement on it? Maybe that will change her mind?
Or you can tell her that dress wont flatter you, and ask if you can get a similar color but different style?
I think it's totally unfair of her to ask you to pay for this dress, it's her day but you're doing her a favor!

It really is just a matter of taste... and I KNOW for a fact some people will think that my choice in wedding gown is ugly.
So.. disclaimer now aside... I will post it if someone can tell me how to get it on here!

I have only have a MOH and she picked the dress and the color herself.
If she hates it she only has herself to blame!
