For those of you who have a mis-matched number of girls or guys in your bridal party... How are you handling this for all of the typical wedding day traditions (ie: walking down the aisle, being announced at the reception hall, etc)? It looks like I am going to have 7 guys and 5 girls for my BP so I want to get ideas of what everyone else is doing... I figure that I will have the men stand at the altar instead of walking down the aisle but I am not sure how to handle the reception hall/first dance arrangement. I might have two men walk in together... Its a running joke that these two guys are such inseperable friends they might as well be a couple so I am hoping they wont mind!
I think I am going to keep the guys (6) with the best man and groom at the altar. So only the girls (4) walk down. I think that might work for me I hope.

I almost had the same problem lol. I was just going to have two guys walk down one BM or I was going to just have the GM walk one by one by themselves down the aisle.

Re: Uneven Bridal Parties
I haven't finalized on my BP but, I am looking at 6 girls and 4 guys. I was thinking of have 2 girls walking with one guy. I am not really liking the idea too much. I might end of making it smaller. I need help!

I have 8 guys and 6 girls (so far)...I am having 2 guys walk down with 1 girl, so it will be....
I have been in wedding parties where it has been an odd number of people...Its no biggie..It is what it is.....I am not picking people just to make it even!!

I have 1 more guy than girls... I keep thinking about adding someone (my cousin) just bc I HATE when things are uneven.
If I don't have her though walking down will be fine - since the best man will be up in front I'll have my MOH walk down with the extra GM... and maybe have 2 GM walk back up with 1 BM.

I have 1 more guy then girl....and I just don't want to add another girl just to have an even number soo.... I am going to have 2 guys walk down 1 girl and same thing for entrance into the ceremony. If the GM and BM join on the dance floor then my little brother who is 13 and wont want to dance with the nearly 30 yr old girls will just sit out and he is fine with that.
So it should be ok.... I think...

Thats true... can keep best man up front. So at least for the walk up the aisle its even. hmmm...

Re: Uneven Bridal Parties
i have one more guy than girl, so for the recessional, one girl will just have two guys. same for the reception introductions. only the girls are going to walk down for the processional.

Re: Uneven Bridal Parties
I have two MOH's and fh has one best man. We have 6 BM and 4 GM. So, it's really whatever you want. There are people out there with male bridesmaids!! They have a best friend who is male so they ask them to be a BM. LOL.. I read this in a magazine. Actually, I think there is a movie with Patrick Dempsy where he's a BM ....haha

Re: Uneven Bridal Parties
I am thinking of putting 2 girls to most guys!! because I was going to have the Men stand up front.. and then the girls walk down alone... but i was concerned about what to do on the way OUT of the church.. because the guys will have to leave with the girls at that point.....

Re: Uneven Bridal Parties
Mine is uneven as of right now... if it stays that way my two MOHS will walk into the reception with the best man and my bridesmaid will walk in with the groomsman.

HAHAHA!!! I'm in the same boat. But I think I have 8 or 9 guys and 5 girls. I'm having each BM walk in with 2 GMs. 3 of the GMs are my cousins, which are like my brothers.... So I was thinking of having them stand on my side. But I don't want people to think its a mistake that some of the men went to my side. I was also thinking about having my 3 guy cousins walk down together... that might make more sense? I don't know... I need help with this!
When they announce the BP at the reception I'm having them walk in like they did at the ceremony.
During the 1st dance I'm not having the BP dance with us... I want the spotlight with FH!

Re: Uneven Bridal Parties
well, Im not having an uneven party, but my friend did and the groom and the ushers were waiting at the alter and then when they walked down, they had two guys double up. So one guy walked in with two girls and thats how they announced it at the recpetion
