uninvited guest

Hi ladies,

So my FH has many friends who know each other, we are only inviting our closests friends and family (80-90 guests). Our reception is buffet. I am worried about having some of those close friends, bringing with them not so close friends or worst, people we dont know!. Do we then have to pay for these uninvited guest? How would it work, additional chairs, chair covers?
Or should I just nicely tell them, you cant stay...sorry?

Thanks for any advice...

Re: uninvited guest

When you send out your invites to all your guests you determine then if it is going to Mr. John Smith & Guest or just Mr. John Smith.

RH's charge pp even for buffets.

That part I got covered, I mean what if after I hand in my final head count, its all paid for, and the day of the wedding comes and 3 invited guest show up with 3 univited guest.
Will the Banquet manager come up to me and say...'pay up..there is 3 additional people here,'
Or will they overlook it if I ask for additional seats b/c someone showed up last minute?

You will be charged for every guests that put their rear in a seat. If you have uninvited guests show up you can ask them to leave if you do not want to pay for them. The easier way of doing this~sounds cheesy but the only real way of getting around this is to make up a list of your guests, with the table number and instead of doing seating cards have your BM cross of people as they come in the door, almost like a club guest list and if they arent on the list, IM sorry but they can not be allowed in. Period, it puts your BM in the position to deal with it

Otherwise, their isnt much that you can do about it. We had a few people bring guests that we didnt expect and they just gave them a chair

every RH is a bit different, but if extra people show up, then you will have to pay for them the day of the wedding. You should really ask your RH about ordering extra chairs, etc.

As Peggie said, you will be charged for every guest that puts their rear into a seat.
Have your FH spread the word that no uninvited guests will be allowed to stay at the reception.
You can also have your BM ask those that have not been invited to leave.

Re: uninvited guest

I think I will follow that advise. Becuase is such a close group of people, I will pass the word around about unwanted guests.

Thanks ladies....
