Uninvited Guests

Re: Uninvited Guests

I have been tactfully told that I could not bring a date when I wasn't involved in a relationship. One wedding I went to and one I did not. The one I didn't attend was a wedding of a co worker; I wouldn't hgave known a soul there and I felt very uncomfortable as a single.

I ran into this problem also. I simply told them honestly i can't accomodate your guest because i am at my capacity and I would understand if she couldn't make it. But, then i reasured them they would know other people there too.

Just tell her that unfortunately you guys are maxed out and don't have the room. She may be emailing you to test the waters to see what you say, so I would definitely tell her from now.

I agree, Just e-mail her back and tell her you are maxed out and if you get enought no's she can bring him but as of right now she can't.

thats a perfect idea!

I would say, my FH and I decided to only allow married couples come together...I apologize for not being able to invite you with a guest.
I hope you can understand

i dont know about that, because if she did invite other serious couples then she could be opening a whole can of worms to start a fight with her friend

i agree....this isone of those situations where i feel yu cant please everyone...and the measuring might begin...how come they can bring someone and I cant....and it might be difficult to draw the line, Jess (truelove5803) made a good suggestion on how you mgiht want to talk to her, its all about how you come across too, esp since something like this can be very stressful..

I just invited everyone with a guest and did my list based on that. I know some ppl wont bring a guest, like some of FH's friends and some older ppl from my parents side who know tthe other family thats coming (bbig italian family) But i did give everyone the option, I would feel a lil uncomfy at a wedding where all i knew was the bride or groom.

yeh, its hard when people reply with extra guest that you had not anticipated.

I had friends that were brides that would call up the person to explain that they did not have enough room for additional guests.

Your friend should understand.

Hoenstly who do people think they are, if his name or guest wasn't on the invite why do they think they can miraculously add someone, geesh.

I agree with the others, you need to tell her kindly that the new BF wasn't invited.

I am inviting all BP with guests and no one else unless they are living with or extremely serious with their SO.
