Long story short, we're currently deciding between having a 'big' wedding (not really big, about 100-125 people) and a small wedding (50 people max maybe smaller, $10k max for everything). My parents have gracious and awesomely offered to pay for everything, but my dad is not-so-subtly trying to get us to elope (aka a super small wedding) and give us the 'big' wedding money as a present. This is awesome but I also have my heart set on the bigger wedding... and that's partially because I can't think of any small wedding scenario I would like. Both a courthouse wedding or a restaurant wedding wouldn't really make me happy and neither my FH or I are really outdoorsy people where getting married on the beach or nature would be 'us' If I could think of something really neat to do for a small wedding, maybe I would consider doing it... otherwise its the 'biggish' wedding for us!
Does anyone have any ideas or have seen any smaller wedding ideas that were a little bit more unique/unusual?

Re: Unique ideas for a small wedding?
Why can't you do a smaller wedding on the beach or outdoors? I don't think 'smaller' wedding means you have to go to a courthouse and have your reception at a restaurant if you don't like that idea. We are actually getting married at a beer garden in Soho and still having a band and cocktail hour/sit down dinner but we are keeping the guest list small to keep costs down.
Side note: We are outdoorsy as well (both FH and I are triathlete/marathoners) but I'm too nervous to do something outdoors because of weather . I don't see why you can't have both!

I say go with your gut, if you ultimately feel a small wedding is not for you than don't do it! Its super nice your parents have offered to pay and I am sure they will understand if you opt to go with a larger wedding. At the end of the day it is about you and you FH and what you both want. Do don't want to look back and have regrets down the line.

There are places that do all inclusive packages for 100 people for 10k. lessings venues offer it but they change seasonally. But maybe you'll get lucky and the one on the beach will offer it. Other wise I know Mediterranean manor has a 75 person 7500 deal. It could be the best of both worlds.

Haha I left out a really important word in my original post... we are NOT outdoorsy people! Let that be a lesson to me to always proofread. I think it would be easier to find a small wedding scenario that would make me happy if we were both outdoorsy but we prefer the indoors. FH also refuses to get married any time when i might be hot out because he's a sweater and would be uncomfortable.
FH is also very on board with taking the money and having a tiny wedding. I know his parents wouldn't be, though, and I don't want to have to deal with hearing from them, either! Everybody keeps saying its 'up to what I want' but also subtley pushing having a wedding that I currently don't want to do. Ugghhh I wish FH would at least be on my side!! lol

What about renting out a venue hall or meeting house? I wish I had this option, but FH didn't like having to do things ourselves lol.
Here are two pretty nice places. I believe their rental fees are pretty small. They come with chairs and tables. You just have to bring in everything else.
