Is anyone NOT doing this? At this point i don't even want to spend the money on the damn candles LOL. I also don't want the ceremony to take forever so I figured i'd cut that and not sacrifice the quality of the ceremony. Is that terrible? LOL

Unity Candle Lighting - Long Island Weddings
I'm not, but I'm also not getting married in church. I have seen church weddings that didn't have them and didn't miss it at all!

We're not doing this. We're not getting married in a church though.
To be honest... I wouldn't notice if it were in the ceremony or not...

Re: Unity Candle Lighting
I got married in a Roman Catholic church and unity candles are not traditional. I did not want one and I do not regret not having one.
Instead I did presentation of flowers to the Blessed Mother. This was more important to me than the unity candles.
I don't know about Presbyterian religion, but are there other traditional customs you can incorporate instead?

Not doing a unity candle either. We are getting married at the hall and I planned on doing the Lasso and Arras Coin ceremony's but now I think I'm going to cut the Coin. The coins I like cost $40 plus like $10 shipping and I really don't think I feel like spending $50 on 13 little silver coins lol

Unity Candle Lighting
I've been to church weddings where they didnt do a unity candle... I personally had one but that's because I wanted it and we had our parents involved with it which was nice. It's a personal preference and if u don't want to have it I think it's fine and won't be weird at all
