There is a poll and message from me on BHB about this topic. I wanted to bring it to my 2011 ladies. Ok so here's my dillema. I feel I chose my bridal party too early. I was excited and people seemed excited at the time and two volunteered themselves and one I actually asked at the beginning of the year. Needless to say two out of the three have been flaking about going with me to see dresses and never asked if I needed their help for anything. I know my wedding is a while from now but one particular BM, I planned with twice to go looking for dresses and she flaked each time. Meanwhile a good friend of mine heard my frustration and when with me. I had consider making her bridesmaid but I really wanted to keep my party small. I wonder should I add her and just keep moving I know she's down for helping or add her and eliminate one of the other people? What to do or do nothing. One is my cousin (volunteered herself), one is my very good friend practically my bestie who recently got married (asked her) and the other is my best friend from high school who I still speak to and she's actually interested. My friend who went dress shopping with me has been a bridesmaid many times and seems actually really up to the task. Help me thanks.

Honestly, I dont think you should kick anyone out. I think that will just cause problems. Maybe you should talk to them. But if there is someone you want in your party, you should ask them. Seriously, the more the merrier. Dont get ung up on the number of people.

i agree. i wouldnt kick anyone out because you dont want to have to deal with all that and it will be much much more added stress around the wedding. if you do wanna ask your other friend i think thats a great idea and from the sound of it, it looks like the girl would be happy to be apart of the bp!

Agreed, especially since it involves a family member and longtme friends, kicking someone out my cause issues that you won't want to deal with on top of planning your wedding. I say just invite the other girl to be a part of your BP since she seems to show an interest and is obviously willing to help you when you need it.
I understand wanting to keep the BP small (we're the same way) but 4 girls is still relatively small.
Let us know what you decide to do!

I went through the same thing. I picked my BP waayyy too early, and now I hardly speak to 2 of them. I wouldn't necessarily kick them out, but inform them that they are needed at times, and if it's too much for them, they are welcome to just be a guest as you still want them apart of your special day.
I just stopped calling my 2 friends and informing them of my wedding progress. They eventually caught on once they saw pictures online, and me taking about various things I was doing. The way I see it, if you needed me there for your wedding planning, dress shopping or just needed me there period, I would!! And if you can't reciprocate the favor, especially if it involves a wedding, then let someone who sees what an honor it is have the opportunity to.

maybe they think bc its so early they can sorta catch up later? I know that's not acceptable but hey people are weird. Lets hope they get mire involved.
keep that BP small if you can. More people equals more drama. I wouldn't dump anyone yet but I'd talk to them for sure.
