I was a lot like you when I started the planning -- I was hell bent on not wearing a veil, but then later changed my mind. I am NOT wearing a blusher and I will take off my veil after pictures and the first dance with FH and with my dad. I'm still up in the air about the Bo-K and garter toss (no pun intended ). I hate stockings too, but I *might* wear thigh highs because I think they're pretty.

Heck, today wedding gowns come in every color of the rainbow and almost 20% of weddings are destination weddings. I think that a wedding is an opportunity for a bride and groom to showcase their individuality. You should do whatever you feel comfortable with!

I hate stockings too... They are just so itchy, hot, and UNCOMFORTABLE. I never wear them unless I absolutely have to and then I try to wear knee or thigh highs...

Needless to say stockings will not be coming near me on my wedding day.

I think I'm wearing a veil, but my wedding looks very traditional (well if you don't look at my blue shoes) If you don't want to wear a veil, I don't think you should.

Your wedding day is about YOU marrying your FH and he choose to marry you because of who you so screw tradition, just be you and be comfortable.

hell no on the stockings - ever. why do they care so much if you wear stockings? no bok toss and no garter toss for me either. i'm wearing a veil because i want to but there is absolutely nothing wrong with not wearing one. and, i'm walking down the aisle to a metallica song.

its your wedding, your day - you need to be happy and comfortable and feel as beautiful as you look!

I'm not wearing stockings, taking the veil off as soon as the ceremony is over and not doing the garter/bo-k toss either. You're not alone

I never heard that i had to wear stockings.. and there is no way i will i hate them too!

Im not tossing the bok or garter either, I dont like the idea either. My family flat out told me 'I am sucking the fun out of the party' and i still dont care, day of Noooone will notice. I told them id consider it just to shut them up.

the veil thing... I want to wear a veil just not over my face, so im half with you on that... i feel very bride with the veil on but dont like the idea of the blusher.. had some family issues with that, but its myyyy wedding. I told me mom she needed to stop living through me and she hasnt given me ((much)) of a problem since.

stand your ground! its your wedding and if you arent comfortable with certain things dont do them! there is no law that says you have to do anything but say your vows.

I think stockings are always a no no. I hate the way they look. I got married in January and went bare legged.

I wore a veil because I liked the way it looked but I hate the bouquet toss and garter fetch. We did an Anniversary dance for the couple who was married the longest. Everyone loved it.

I'm with you on all points. I HATE stockings - so uncomfortable. I never wear them and certainly don't plan to change my habits on my wedding day. We will not be doing the garter/bouquet toss - I was never a fan of this tradition and I don't think anyone will miss it. I'll be wearing a short veil so that I can wear it during the entire reception, but no blusher.

As so many other girls have said, don't let anyone convince you to do something YOU don't want to do. This is YOUR wedding!!

Well, I'm neither a feminist nor a tomboy, however, I will definitely not be wearing stockings on my wedding day (I barely wear them ever). I will have a veil, but it will not cover my face and it's coming off immediately after the first dance. I will be doing the garter and bok toss, just cause I want to. I don't think that you have anything to worry about, I think most girls feel the same way.

Girl, this is 2009! Who wears stockings?!?!?!? You couldn't pay me enough to wear stockings. As for a veil...if a veil isn't your think, how about a flower or hair jewels?

no stockings and not wearing veil over face..i really dont want to wear a veil anyway but I am going to just for ceremony and SOME pics...NOT over my face at all !

It's your wedding day and you do what you want to do.

I'm not going to do the whole garter tossing either. Some of my cousins were telling me to just have fun with it and do it. But then I'm like, so which one of you will actually get up to catch a bouquet so some guy can put the garter up your leg.

If you don't want to wear a veil, then don't. I originally wasn't either, but then I fell in love with Mantilla veils so I got one.

But don't pay attention to what everyone is telling you that you 'should' do. Let them stick to tradition for their weddings.

I am not wearing a blusher and I am DEF not wearing stockings! I plan on wearing peep toe shoes ....

there is nothing traditional about my wedding at all... i'm wearing a veil- but it's a cage and it's a hat (pics in my album- it's hard to describe) the veil is velcro-ed on so i will be removing it from the hat for the reception. i'm also not having a BP(just FHs sister and my brother as honor attendants), i'm having a non-traditional shower (a cocktail party with men and women) not doing the bouquet toss, didn't pick a dress for the MOH (she is picking out the dress and the color herself), and i'm having a 'cocktail' reception- no formal sit down dinner. the wedding should be a representation of who you and FH are... i think a lot of brides are doing things differently nowadays!!! whatever you decide for your wedding will be wonderful!!!

Its your wedding and you can do it however you want girl! Ive never worn a pair of stockings in my life...nor will I be wearing a veil over my face, so your not alone. Do whatever you need to do to enjoy your day :o)

I won't be wearing any. I hate stockings. I'll wear thigh hights but that's it. I stupdily wore thigh hights to a wedding I went to not that long agoand wanted to rip them off.

i dont plan on wearing stocking or a viel over my face as well..dont stress over it, its your day

and as for the bo-k toss...once again its your wedding..u do what u want!
