oy, I've been having a lot of fun with my registry lately!
We're really starting from scratch, so I'm registering for EVERYTHING, but I decided to put on some extra stuff... especially some extra cookware stuff because I try to eat healthy (high cholesterol) so I got an asparagus steamer pot and a fish poaching pan. For fun I put on some funky bakeware - crazy cookie cutters, a heart-shaped cake pan, a wok, an electric fondue pot, and a small coffee maker that makes the coffee directly into a travel cup.
I also registered for a massaging spa footbath and a back massager and one of those i-joy massage chairs they have at Sharper Image (I found it online at the BBB website, which is where I'm registered)... so sweet!
Also, an ionic breeze air purifier... a large one and a small one...
I've got a LOT on my registry and I haven't even put on dishes or silverware or bedding... but that's fine. I can always take things off, and between the engagement party, the shower, and the actual wedding, I'm going to need to be registered for quite a lot! Maybe nobody will get it for me... but it can't hurt to add it!
I would keep that stuff on there b/c in the end if it's not purchased you'll probably get a discount on them! So either way it's worth it! Go all out girl!
oh, I will!
I spent today looking at dishes and stuff... mostly because I had nothing else to do but schoolwork, which I so didn't want to do...
And my wedding is still a little over a year and a half away... I was only supposed to be registering for cookware and appliances so there would be stuff for our engagement party... and then I went a little nuts! I love this... it's like shopping without actually spending any money!
ha, I need to get myself a hobby....

That's funny b/c that's the same reason we have started registering too and we are just going all out b/c at least it's something we aren't spending money on! It's the 'let me not think about how much that band and photographer are going to cost' pre-game!!
Totally hear you on the hobby.....maybe knitting?!

Re: Untraditional Registy Items
FMIL got me the chocolate fountain for Christmas! I can't wait to use it!
So far nothing too unusual on my registry. Well actually we did register for this gigantic martini glass they had at Fortunoffs just for fun, but we are taking it off. We just thought it was so funny!
We did register for a professional waffle maker, a rice cooker and a frothy hot drink maker ( just got this for my birthday! Can't wait to try it out!). Not too unusual, but not the typical everyday items.
We are also thinking about registering for luggage.

Re: Untraditional Registy Items
For the girls asking about the Honeymoon registry I hear they are great. My girlfriend is using honeymoonwishes.com
You register for gift from a $25 bottle of wine to $400 a room night stay. People get you something they can afford and then you get a big check to pay for your honeymoon with.
Check out the chat thread under honeymoons.

yeah I tossed that idea about honeymoon registry to FH last night. I think he thought I was joking.
I am going to look into it a little more.

Gummi Bear. We put it in as a joke and his best friend (and Best man) got it for us for our engagement party (with other gifts )
