I wish there were more brides here that have had their Reception where im having mine. I havent seen much of anything. Makes everything more stressful. I would rather know if my place is awful than not know and have to experience how awful it is.

Well I dont know how I would approach going... Like what am i supposed to do, show up and be like well im here cause I wanna see the place again.... IDK ill feel all stupid I dont want them to be all nasty like oh you saw it when you booked it or something. You are paying for it, you better be able to see it as much as you want to! At least that is how I see it.

LOL GOD! Yes thats what I wanna do. I want everything to go right that I dont want to be like the devil girl that goes there and they hate and they take it out on my event. people can be like that, and I saw someone review my RH on projectwedding. com and they said the guy was straight out of the Sopranos!!!! How horrible is that

You should definitely go and see it. The RH should have no problem with you showing up to take another look. Especially if you go during the week when there'snothing going on. I have been back to my RH twice since i've booked because i kept forgetting how it was set up. It's your wedding and YOUR MONEY and they should be willing to accomodate you to the best of their ability and beyond. It's because of you that their making money; not the other way around. It's nothing for you to feel ashamed about. It's natural to be concerned about anything and everything having to do with you wedding. This is a once in a lifetime event(or at least we all hope lol) and everything should be perfect or as close to as possible. GO AND SEE YOUR PLACE!!!! If they don't want to accomodate you, then THAT should be your red, blue or green flag to take your business and MONEY elsewhere.

Im going to email that dude right now. FH was laughing because I was hysterically crying saying the RH was going to be a disaster and how I was going to end up looking like the lady from the cartoon movie corpse bride.... He ended up crying too, but from all his laughing

i USED TO rethink my RH before i booked what I have now. Originally I had been thinking of another one. i was good with it, but then after a little bit, I just knew that it wasn't for me. Even though it probably would have made things less expensive than they are now, i still know that i would be very unhappy if I had stuck with it. Luckily I decided all of that before giving in my deposit. It was like the day before money would be due that i went to this other hall and just fell in love.
About a month ago, I began wondering if I rushed into it again (since i really didn't look at too many places), but then I went to my friends wedding (who was using the same RH) and I just fell even MORE in love with it!!!! It really helps to see the place in action. I love that i got that chance. I am even more excited now (if that's possible).

After I first booked it I started to doubt it alot.. so I went back with my FMIL to show her and realized why I loved it and never doubted it since.

Maybe you should go look at it again.. try to remember all the things that made you love it in the first place.

I have and at times I still do....but it's only b.c I am an idiot and didnt realize how low the stupid ceilings were. I find ANY reason to go go FOx hollow to see my room again and again. lol. Every time I go back I feel totally re-assured! I love Fox Hollow!

go back and look at your place again, if you really hate it, you still have time to book a diff. place.

This is exactly what I did...I showed up there without an appointment. It wasn't on purpose though I was at a wedding down the road and figured while I was in the area why not. So I got to see one wedding ending (they let me take a peak through the door), and then I saw them set up for another wedding and I got to see the cocktail hour as well. I was very very impressed especially after just having been to a wedding down the road at a very reputable place, VIP was 100000x better. The cocktail hour was set up so nice and there was so much food. And the room looked amazing. I have no second thoughts about booking there and I looked around at about 5 other places before we booked. I've heard nothing but good thinks from my other vendors who have worked weddings there....they all have said I made a great choice and the food is amazing. I think no matter what you choose you will have second thoughts on it.


Edit: One other thing...when I did show up unexpected they were nothing but nice and happy I was there. I met with the manager and he spent probably 45 mins showing me around talking to me, giving me some tips for vendors, ect. He was busy but he took his time to meet with me, and I have already booked and paid a good chuck of the money. I would not be scared to show up there at all. They're all wonderful...I even met my Bridal Attendant and he's AWSOME.

I'm getting married right down the road at Greentree CC. Don't feel bad just showing up at VIP, if that's the hall you chose and exchanged money with them, than you have every right to go back and ask additional questions, or make changes to your contract or whatever!. My FH and I have been back to greentree 4 times since booking them, and have called to speak to our bm more than that, don't forget they work for you now to ensure that your day is special!

Don't listen to reviews too much, just go with what your heart is telling you and with your experience so far with the hall. I wouldn't mind having Paulie Walnuts at my wedding heehee...j/k

i think his email response to you was pretty good--he is inviting you back to go over things--which means you would see the place again. it seems to me like he's making an effort by even apologizing if anyone made you feel uncomfortable and giving you his cell. i wouldn't call this email cheesey at all...he does seem genuine.

i'd respond to him and set up and appointment to go back in and go over thing and see how you feel

Hes being a jerk saying that I have to talk to his secratary cause hes not the appt maker... but its whatever. im not going to stress it cause well... if it aint pretty, ill make it look pretty.... ohhh confindence

I went to my reception 4 x's in one day I Iive close by. I just wanted to make sure I was making the right decision. You are paying them so you have every right to go so long as you don't interrupt a wedding...so go

I agree, I don't think his e-mail was cheesey. It was a standard business type e-mail so some of the lingo is typical, but sometimes it's because of how you're taught to do things. Trust me that the way I sounded on business letters or emails is COMPLETELY different than how i speak in a regular manner and how I would approach a situation. You do want to sound professional, and not always like you're writing to just anybody.

He does seem like he wants to help you and honestly seems like he is willing to work with you to make you happy and do whatever it is to make you comfortable. I think it was good that he apologized for anyone making you uncomfortable and was trying to rectify the situation. I would be happy that there is somebody at the RH that is trying their hardest to work with you and make you happy.

Just show up! They are used to much worse from brides. lol Everytime I have to make a payment I just go in person and see the room again.

I felt the same way about my RH at first so I went with FH and my camera. I took pics of the CH room, the reception room and the ceremony room. Now I'm so happy to have my wedding there.
