UPDATE - Expenses - vent

So originally we were going to go to Bora Bora for our honeymoon but I feel like we have so many expenses now that I'm thinking twice about a 15k honeymoon.
I just feel like everything is pilling up - we have so much left to pay for the wedding, then with the car accident and buying a new car, having $ for the closing costs on our house which will be probably in a month or so, my FH taxes will be due (he's self employed so he pays everything in april)
& I know if we were getting married in like Septemeber - everything would be spread out and we'd be fine but everything kinda just happened at once and I know that we'd be better off (financially) going somewhere closer and for 1/2 that price and we'd have an awesome time. It's just I know its your honeymoon and we'll probaably never go again to BB - but at the same time I dont want to be selfish -
I know after the wedding we'll be fine, money wise its just crunch time now and im so stressed out about all the expenses.
ok just needed to vent!

Anyone in a similar boat?

I just spoke with FH - We decided to wait till July and go on our dream HM to Bora Bora :)

We booked a roundtrip w/ an extra trip in between for about $1200!!! What type of seats were you looking into.. it could be that..

wow that sounds like a really good price! you guys did get a good deal

Yea...I understand! I am STILL sick so I havent really been working and my income has been payig for the wedding...FH only gives a little bit, and then i feel guilty bc 6k from myparents turned to 10k and is now turning to15k....the wedding is about 35k with ALLL added expenses. I forgot we need $$ to put down on a place and FMIL is giving us the HM and she always has soemething to say... im in school so books are $$$ and allll these little things keep coming up....i have to get this and that

I get so stressed and I dont know how to avoid it

I just keep tellng myself like you mentioned that after the wedding itll be ok, but how do I deal with NOW, you know?

Wow. I'm sorry, but if you can't afford it you can't afford it but that doesn't mean you can't have an amazing HM.

I try to understand peoples thought processes when it comes to stuff like this and I just don't get it.

Honestly theres alot of ppl on LIW who do go to tahiti so obviously alot of people do it. None of us know anybodies financial situation, so unless we know how much they both make a year and all their other expenses then its hard to judge, bc otherwise were judging without knowing anything. We cant compare ourselves to how everybody does things so theres no need for any of us to HAVE to understand their thought process, its someone elses money so their decision.

yeah we just bought a car so basically our BB + some more money went for the car!

things do happen, and if before all this you were able to spend $11k on the honeymoon plus 4k spending money and its what you really wanted then go for it. But at least you are able to sit down after what happened and rethink things so good for you.

Like i said ive been doing so much research on europe for months lol, so if you need help with something let me know

yeah i think we have to sit down, pen and paper and see exactly how much we have left to pay the vendors & everything else and then make a smart decision

try their website.. I was just on it.. trying our route again.. it went up a bit.. but it's not that bad..

yup, look this is directly from their site...so it would be about $1600 per person just one way...for 2 tix its about 3,200

I think many of us are in the same boat right now

We are mostly done booking vendors, all we have left is the florist and the minor things like favors, BP gifts etc but we still have a ton of money to save. FH has to get a new car soon because his lease is up which will cost a few thousand for a down payment and on top of that we will be closing on our house in a few months. We have to also bring the travel agent another 3K towards our honeymoon and a couple of weeks. I dont know how we are going to do it all.

If you think the stress of that alone is bad, on top of that we just found out my mom has breast cancer and my dad has to go for heart surgery. I dont know what to do anymore, I feel like its all happening at once.

if we could afford to buy a house it would be worth for going a HM..............

which we may not get right away due to job transitions.
