Don't worry. YOur special day will still be perfect! It will all work out. Even though things seem bleak now, know you're doing the right thing and you'll find somewhere just as perfect. FH and I cancelled our destination wedding just a few months back as my dad was diagnosed with cancer and we've found a new small local place and we know it's going to be great.
Life always has a curveball up it's sleeve, but roll with it. Things will turn out just fine!!!

Hey ,
I am getting married at the Miller Beach Surf Club. The price is right and it is a million dollar view. We have an 18 month old and I am not working so I can take care of him. Therefore on one income we could not afford much more. And I have to admit even if we had 2 incomes I would still pick the Miller Beach Surf Club. I have been working really hard on having an affordable wedding so if you need any suggestions on vendors that have been willing to work will my budget feel free to ask.

Sorry you're going through this!

Maybe Windows on the Lake? My sister had her wedding there and it was around 100 people. I don't think it cost her an arm and a leg to have it there either. They have a nice outside area for you to have your ceremony.

I am so sorry to hear this, but keep your head up. Everything happens for a reason and it is just one more thing that will strengthen your relationship with FH.

Why don't you try Captain Bills in Bayshore. The food is fantastic and the prices were very reasonable and they have different size rooms to choose from. Hope that helps.

From personal experience, no matter where you get married, it will be beautiful if you're marrying your FH. After cancelling the Swan Club and eloping, I felt let down at first b/c of all the work that i put into the planning and I loved my venue!! I'm not suggesting by any means, but we went to City Hall, then away for the week and we call it our wedding week, it was absolutely perfect! We're now planning to have an actual ceremony & reception, but we're going to do it 2 or 3 years from now, when we can afford to splurge on everything we want. Trust that you're making the best decision you can make, especially b/c you're not working.
I'm pretty familiar with a lot of places you can have a nice dinner at afterwards, we did Morton's in Brooklyn, and I know there's one in Great Neck, and they're specialty is weddings. Do you have someone who has a nice backyard that you can use? I'll try to see if there's a garden style restaurant that you could use, I'll see over the weekend. It will all work out!
