So I just found out that tomorrow will be my 1st day of interning at Mineola HS as a school psych. I'm excited to be doing it, but I'm always nervous getting into new situations! I also have to go out shopping for clothes today since my old work clothes no longer fit me (went up a size over the summer) I cant believe this is finally happening and its sooo scary to be going out in the 'real world' Ahhh... Just had to vent!
its gonna be tough the first few weeks adjusting and all...but once youve reached a routine, you'll be fine!

congrats hun! you are going to be fine - i was so nervous when i first started clerking and i am going to feel the same way when i become an attorney - but you will be fine!

My biggest fears are that i wont get taken seriously because i look so young and fh already said all the boys are going to be hittin on me and will come in for couseling just to talk to me![]()

Dont worry it will be okay... we are all nervous the first time we try something new but, i'm sure you will be comfortable real soon
Wow, that's horrible that you were treated like that. Do you have an advisor that you could talk to about this? When I did my internship I was always encouraged to talk to my advisor if I had any problems. Hopefully this woman will get over whatever her problem is.
She is wrong for treeating u that way...sorry u had a bad day...it should be more than just sittin reading a damn pamphket or whatever...u should be enjoying the internship
aww I am so sorry to hear that. I would go back tomorrow with a smile on your face and eager to learn!!! I would make it like she is not making you upset!!! Some people just SUCK!

Well I just got back home and honestly dont even think the psych wants to have me as a intern. She stated that she doesnt 'care for' my program at my school and i think she thinks that I havent been taught well enough to be working under her...![]()
I dunno what to do... She wasnt even around me half the day... She gave me some **** to read and just like left and didnt even tell me where she was going or even ask me to join her...![]()
I feel like shes trying to get me to leave the position and it aggravated the crap outta me... Dont tell me you can take me on and then act like this... She acted fishy when I first met her, but at that point there was no way I could find another school![]()
that stinks that she wasn't nice to you. give it a few more days and maybe she'll warm up a bit. hope tomorrow goes better for you.

I know the feeling!!! It's not so bad though, its actually nice to be getting $$ LOL. I started working as an Audiologist June 25th at a school for the deaf. I was so nervous, but once I started I realized there was no reason to be!

Try to talk to your advisor because you def. dont want to deal with her for over a year.. whats the point of interning for free if your not going to learn anything
Stick it out...kill her with kindness and if acts all hugh and mighty ask her a ton of questions...don't give up!! Hang in there!
