UPDATE ---------- How long was your Wedding Video?

Original post by billandme

Our videographer siad our video is done and it's 15 minutes long. Isn't that too short?

UPDATE:

Well girls, we got our video in the mail yesturday.......and it was as he said it was. SHORT! The main part of the video was 16.23 long and the bonus part was 10 minutes long.

It was a highlighted video, and in our contract, we were to have a full length video with bridal prep, photo shoot ceremony and reception. Well, I guess you can say we got all of that, but in a very CONDENSED version

I phoned them right away and asked them to explain to me why in my contract it said one thing but we received another? They told me that on our wedding day, the videographer's battery died and was only able to film the last 10 minutes of our ceremony He got our vows, but only the end part of them......when we were exchanging rings. He had to drive an hour back to his office to get another battery and missed A LOT of things in between being that he was gone for over 2.5 hours........... So we never got our bridal party entrance, we never got my husbands reaction when he saw me, we never got the majority of our ceremony..........we never got our bridal party shoot........nothing. I am so upset about this.

This is something that they can not give back to us. NEVER! I told them that I don't care what they do or how they do it, but we want ALL of the raw footage of our wedding day. EVERY last bit of it. I just can't beleive it!

Also, my sister wasn't able to make it to our wedding as she had my little neice 3 weeks prior, so she send an email speech that my mom read to me.....which I cried my eyes out while it was being read, but on the video, he started filming half way through the speech!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyways, I am just to upset to deal with this right now. They said they are going to try to get all the raw footage from our wedding and send it to us.

Our friends said that we can ask for a refund or sue if they don't give it to us, and that's fine and dandy, but that won't bring back the memories that we paid to have on our video, you know?

And don't worry, this company is not from around here........

Thanks for listening girls......I really hope this does NOT happen to anyone else!

Re: UPDATE ---------- How long was your Wedding Video?

ask around and have your family ask around if anyone else had a video camera there..
this same thing happend to my best friend at her wedding ... and they lost the majority of the good footage ud want in a video...
the videographer took the footage other guests shot, and put in tons of pics.. and gave them more then half their money back for the drama..
just keep pushing for raw footage... and ask around to see if others have any video

and tons of for you

OMG!! That is truly awful!! I am so sorry that that has happened to you

I would absolutely demand the raw footage and request a refund.

Unfortunately, nothing will re-create the footage. However, here is an idea. How about you take the raw footage and all of your BEAUTIFUL digital photography images to a company and have them create an edited video to music incorporating the footage you have with the photography, and music of your choice. My father's company could creat this for you. FM me with any questions.

Again, I am truly sorry

I'm sooooooo sorry this happened to you! Thank god you had an amazing photographer which captured your day. Your pics are gorgeous!!! My only word of advise would be to report them to the Better Business Bureau if you really have to. Try to resolve it first with the company, but they really need to set up and give you most or all your money back http://www.bbb.org/ .

OMG, that's absolutely terrible!!!!!!!!!!! What kind of a vendor in good conscience could actually DO this to a person and act as if nothing is wrong??? Seriously, fight them tooth and nail on this, and def make a complaint with the BBB!!! I am SO sorry that your memories weren't captured on tape, but try to remember that there are worse things in the world and that at least you have DH.

I agree 100%

btw, what professional (or amateur) videographer would go to shoot a wedding and not bring EXTRA BATTERIES!?

YIKES! That really stinks! You are definitely a better person than I would be. I would be demanding a very large chunk of my money back.
Sorry
