UPDATE- I SWITCHED PHOTOG! ...Anyone switch a major vendor?!

My Gosh Girls.....this is one I lost sleep over!
I met with my original vendor for an hour on Saturday and looked at LOTS of the portfolio and love the work. Truly. Love. It. I honestly was going to cancel my meeting with Thomas Paul but FH insisted that I was interested for a reason and owed it to myself to invest the time and not have any regrets.

Last night we met withThomas Paul and were blown away. His style is unique and the pictures literally made me say 'Oh wow' a few times. I'm proud to say that I'm a Thomas Paul Bride now!

This was nerve wracking because it's truly unlike me to flip-flop but sometimes things happen for a reason!

I am NOT an indecisive person. BUT....
I'm second guessing my photographer only because I got a great deal from another vendor.

Turns out a good friend at work is a family friend of Thomas Paul. UGH!

I've always admired his work...it turns out I got a great quote- $800 cheaper than what I am paying for my photographer and it includes parent albums and more enlargements and the TY cards.

I have left a $500 deposit, I would lose it....but the value of the parent albums has to be AT LEAST that. I would save at least $800-$1000 in the long run...and I get 2 photographers all day.

I feel like an idiot, wish I had known about TP before!!!! It would be Brian and Tony shooting my wedding...what would you do?

dont worry, ive seen ALOT of girls on here who switched their photographers and in the end knew they made the right decision.

I think what happens is when first planning and searching, you come across of alot of the same companies and go by recommendations from ppl you know that all use the same few companies. YOu dont realize just how many photographers are out there. And after being on here or searching more you end up seeing just how many there are and yes can fall in love with someone elses work.

Same almost happened to me, photo was first vendor i wanted to check out. Looked online had the name of all the major photo companies. Went to a bridal show and saw the vendors, booked an appt with one and was going to book that person. Luckily bc of dh's schedule had to make the appt quite a few weeks after the bridal show. In the meantime somebody on LIW was posting other photojournalistic photographers and thats when i saw my photographers work for the first time. I realized how much i love that candid style and what i wanted. Never went to the other appt and went this route instead. But if i had made that appt soon after the bridal show, i would've prob booked them and then probably would have cancelled lol

It was crazy how it happened. For a few months I had been admiring everyone's Thomas Paul e-pics....but I was already booked. I called my old photographer and made an appointment to choose a second photographer, hoping that someone on the team would have some 'edge' to them.

That same day, I went out for Starbucks with a friend from work and she casually mentioned that her Dad is a photog. for Thomas Paul. I almost dropped my coffee, I called him that same day. If you're happy with your photog then don't do this to yourself....I had been having doubts for at least 2-3 months.

I would book TP if you love his work more and use Twelfth night for E-pics. Congrats on your switch!!!!

I booked a vendor on here two years before the wedding, but after our epic shoot and seeing new wedding pictures I was truely unhappy. So we cancelled 4 months before the wedding and went with TP too. We too had Brian and Tony, they were phenomenal. We are sooo happy with our pictures.
