I am back from lunch & it went ok- good news and bad news- so first the good news- I am now the Assistant Director of the Department and I got a pretty good raise so yay for that..
and the bad news- in our department, there are 2 managers me and another guy & everything is split down the middle.. so he's been here 10 years and was actually my boss at one point- but his numbers have been really bad the last two years and they are firing him i'm sad because I really liked working with him.

I'm really happy for you, and CONGRATS!!! As for the guy you like working with getting fired, i know you feel bad but just remember, there was nothing you did wrong to get him fired. Good luck!!

congrats!!!! i'm sure you totally deserve the promotion. best of luck with it. as for your co-worker, it's a sad situation, but unfortunately these things have to happen. hopefully he can leave with a good referral.

ahh congrats, i am so proud of you, best of luck w/ your new position, and i know it is hard seeing a co-worker get fired, especially when you enjoy working with that person, but if he is not performing well like the co. would like then they do what they feel is best, and i am sure he will find something, but a toast to you.
