update on dress question

Thanks to everyone who responded. I called a few places today and got 2 quotes- Fantasia quoted me the same price as Centereach, but said that if I come in the price is negotiable . Commack wedding center quoted me about $150 cheaper, but the owner Bob, who I spoke with didn't actually look it up- he just kind of guesstimated that figure based on the price at Centereach. So the bottom line is, I am going back to Centereach with CWC's price and asking what they can do- wish me luck!

Re: update on dress question

katie, let me explain some stuff about commack wedding center. I love them, they have gotten me a real great deal my dress and my girls dresses. The thing with cwc is that when your dress comes in they will not hold it, you have to bring it home and back in around alterations time. They do too much business and they don't have the room. So, if you order from them make sure they tell you when they think it will come in. I ordered a moonlight bridal and well it came in 3 week after I ordered it.. no joke! Which was awesome b/c it was ordered in late feb and my wedding was supposed to be in july. I was excitied to see the dress, since every other shop told me there was no way on 6 months notice my dress would come in!! so, haha!!
But alas, when the told me I had to come and get it, I freaked but luckily, it wasen't that bad for me.
But this is just a warning since I noticed your wedding is a year away. When you speak to bob, or rich (his son and owner now) you might want to mention about how soon it would be coming in, b/c you might want to wait a bit on ordering it so that you don't have to have it hanging in your house. All bridal shops normally wait and that is why they say it takes so long, but CWC doesn't at all, and they come in fast.
Good luck with ordering your dress. I just had my second fitting there yesterday and love my dress. After my hair trial I went out there and took my pictures and oh my gosh, its amazing!

Best of luck with your planning and I reccommend CWC just make sure you realize if it comes in too soon you might have to bring it home and then bring it back or speak to them about it and maybe work something out..
