Update on FMIL

Update on FMIL

Winthrop is definitely a great hospital...she is being transferred out of ICU today and into a regular room. They got all of the fluid out from around her heart. NOW for the kicker...there was NEVER anything wrong with her gall bladder in the first place (Mid-Island really f&cked up on that one). It wasn't enlarged and she didn't need surgery on it. And we were told that if she went into the surgery she would have died From square one, the way the doctor was treating her there was horrible. She was trying to tell him that she was very short of breathe and what he told her was....We're the doctors, let us do our job. Thankfully the internist who was doing the pre-op on her listened to her and took the initiative to not give her clearance for the surgery because he said he knows it can't just be a gall bladder it has to be something with her heart. But in the end she is doing well, but believe me I would never trust anyone I know to go to Mid-Island hospital.

***please check out my next post about Daisy...I don't know if I should bring her to the vet/er clinic or if it's not something i need to worry about***

Re: Update on FMIL

I am glad she is doing well. I was thisclose to being operated on in new island on thursday myself...they were going to remove my gallbladder, meanwhile I have a huge kidney stone. Luckily i'm a nurse so I new it wasn't my GB, so I had my doctor discharge me and I went to my own hospital...
