UPDATE ON MY MISSING PHOTOGRAPHER

ok - so i went to the address and it was a diffferent studio name. it said art-istic images. i thought maybe he worked out of that office, i wrote the number down and called it and spoke to artie - the owner. i told him i was looking for tommy meyerz and he never heard of him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i told him that on the studio 790 website it has that address- he looked it up himself while on the phone with me and could not believe another photographer was using his address. he was so great and offered to call ************** for me- who tommy claimed he worked for. they said they let him go a year ago and refused to give any information out. he also called his developing studio and they never heard of him.
i have to get a hold of drues_girl b.c her wedding is this october.
i am going to call the virginia chamber of commerce to see if they have info- and also do a reverse search for the address listed there.

THIS SOUNDS LIKE A SCAM TO ME! but my wedding is a yr away- drues_girl's wedding is a month away!!! i should post on the 10 forum too!

that was one of the first things i asked artie at artistic images- when i was sitting in the parking lot at the exact address studio 790 has as theirs...'how long have you been at this location'

Maybe offer your number to Soon2bNavi to give to drues_girl so she can call you directly if she wants. That's what I would do anyway.

So the studio number is Virginia is disconnected too? Where did you first meet the photographer?

I have spent well over $10k in vendors deposits so I hope that is the norm or i am screwed
And if they dissapear with my money they better be de@d !

It sounds so fishy that he's using an address on his web-site that just so happens to also be the location of a different photographer. I hope you are able to track him down!

A $1K deposit for wedding photography sounds a bit steep. I paid $1K as my RH deposit when I booked, and then my other deposits were only 1/3rd or even less.

My total photog package is around $3500 and my deposit was only $ 300. Same with Video ($300 deposit for a $1,000 video package). My DJ deposit was $500 (total package cost $2295). Flowers also only cost $300 (total cost was $1900).

I would contact the Chamber of Commerce or Better Business Bureau to file a Complaint and gather up any other brides who've been scammed by this guy. Hopefully you can recoup some of that deposit.

PS and I'm listing deposits only to warn future brides to be a little more skeptical when a vendor asks for so much $$ at front. Always do your research before booking a vendor!! This means asking for a detailed contract, references, insurance info, how many years they've been in business, and emergency contact info.

OK, everyone needs to stop commenting on what other people put down as deposits cause then everyone else is going to think they got ripped off when they didn't... it's not ususual to pay a $1K deposit, especially when you don't know what the package consisted of or how much it cost. The amount of money is not the issue here. My vendor deposits were all more than my RH deposit and my vendor packages are not super extravagant, where my RH is on the expensive side as RH's go.
Just because it's not what YOU put down doesn't mean it's unusual or sketchy or worng. Everyone's prices, packages and deposits are different.

So can we please focus on the issue here, stop making this girl feel worse and stop making other girls freak out for no reason? Thanks.

Did you look into seeing if you could find a vendor list from that expo? or call someone who ran that one and see if the info is different then what you have?

OHMIGOD....druesgirl is my sister! she is going to lose her mind bc she was booked with gina who went *** too.
I just tried to call her....have you heard anything else? Please let me know
