ok - so i went to the address and it was a diffferent studio name. it said art-istic images. i thought maybe he worked out of that office, i wrote the number down and called it and spoke to artie - the owner. i told him i was looking for tommy meyerz and he never heard of him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i told him that on the studio 790 website it has that address- he looked it up himself while on the phone with me and could not believe another photographer was using his address. he was so great and offered to call ************** for me- who tommy claimed he worked for. they said they let him go a year ago and refused to give any information out. he also called his developing studio and they never heard of him. i have to get a hold of drues_girl b.c her wedding is this october. i am going to call the virginia chamber of commerce to see if they have info- and also do a reverse search for the address listed there.
THIS SOUNDS LIKE A SCAM TO ME! but my wedding is a yr away- drues_girl's wedding is a month away!!! i should post on the 10 forum too!

Ok so I did a google search for this guy, his name is Thomas Myers.
The phone # is the same as studio 790's website but the VA address is different.
Thomas Myers 3722 red bird circle roanoke, v.a. 24018 US
I did a reverse look up for that address and this is what came up:
Brenda K Ettelson 3722 Red Bird Cir Roanoke, VA 24018 (540) 400-7995
I don't know if this helps at all but try calling that #

OK, everyone needs to stop commenting on what other people put down as deposits cause then everyone else is going to think they got ripped off when they didn't... it's not ususual to pay a $1K deposit, especially when you don't know what the package consisted of or how much it cost. The amount of money is not the issue here. My vendor deposits were all more than my RH deposit and my vendor packages are not super extravagant, where my RH is on the expensive side as RH's go. Just because it's not what YOU put down doesn't mean it's unusual or sketchy or worng. Everyone's prices, packages and deposits are different.
So can we please focus on the issue here, stop making this girl feel worse and stop making other girls freak out for no reason? Thanks.
ITA. 100% How did it turn into an issue about her deposit and not the REAL issue at hand

a few of my vendors asked for 1/3 of the total and about 2 of them 1/3 is $1000....is that bad?
A lot of my vendors wanted large deposits. I wouldn't worry about it.

what i feel weird about still is the fake address on the website! i feel very uneasy about that- and the other photographer is not happy at all that some other photographer is using his address!

hes NOT MISSING just moved studios....... i just spoke with him on saturday ladies.... def not a scam
I feel bad he caused her confusion but hes a great guy not really doing a lot of weddings anymore because he is shooting more models now and working on independent films!!!

i dunno - he didnt drop off the face of the planet just seems to be a little careless with communication.
But i guess talk to him (now that you know he is around and have his new number) and feel him out.

I think I started the discussion about deposits and it slipped my mind that others are spending different from what I am spending... I wouldn't give that much in deposit, no matter what.. but that's just me and my FH.. and how you can never trust people with your $$ especially in this economy..

Thanks to all you girls who helped me last night and today!!! i just took a long nap- too stressful!!! i am so glad for 'drues_girl' that this seems to be setteled! i am so glad to have his new contact info!
what is not sitting well with me is that that studio has been owned by someone else for 7YEARS! WHO HAS NEVER HEARD OF HIM. yucky feelings about that!!!
and i am not sure you can just switch to another photographer... i think that is breaking contract. i dont know... need to talk to fh about this

Hello, After doing a search to try to find tommy I figuired I'd check back on here & glad I did. He did shoot our wedding last year & pics & engagemnt shots did come out very nice BUT, this lack of follow-up & returning calls has been a problem the majority of the time with him. Now we submitted our proofs for our album quite some time ago & we forot that we had to pic out a cover shot & we delayed doing it for a while HOWEVER, since then I have emailed & tried calling every number I ever had for the guy MANY MANY times still has yet 2 track him down &/or recieve a reply in any manner. I'm a persistant S-O-B & I will get our album one way or another. So with all that being said, if you could get me any current info to contact him it would be sincerely appreciated. Also, should you have any questions on him feel free to ask, im not here to badmouth the guy but to just give an honest view on our dealings with him I will say some good & more than I'd like not so good...
