update! we're finally looking at RH's!!!!

i'm sooo excited!! after FH gets home from work we're driving up to NY to do a marathon of looking at RH's! We're seeing two this afternoon/evening (Swan Club and Tall Grass Country Club) and five tomorrow (East Wind Country Gardens, Giorgios, Majestic Gardens, Chateau La Mer, and Woodbury Country Club). If we can't choose from 7 places, I don't think we'll ever be able to choose LOLLL

But my parents were supposed to come and then my mom came down with the flu we can't sign without her seeing!!!!!

ETA: Update: so tonight we looked at Tall Grass Country Club and CLM (we were supposed to look at Swan Club, but because of time constraints we moved that until tomorrow). Tall Grass was really laid back, inviting, and cozy. It was really our style! CLM was a little 'fancier' than what we were looking for. We were also worried about the open docks and all the children at the wedding!! I'll update again tomorrow after we see the rest!!!

Swan Club girls: we never got to it! We had such a full plate and their timing just didn't fit in because we were mainly out east. We haven't made a decision yet so hopefully we'll get to see it next weekend!!!

Sounds like it was productive! I think it's just as important to see what you don't like about a place as much as what you love about it!

Yes! We definitely saw some things we didn't like. My mother was ready to book on the spot with East Wind (the Country Gardens). I felt it was too small and the decor was too old fashioned. It also felt like we'd be in trouble if it rained (nowhere else to take photos, there's no indoor ceremony room, etc). FH fell in love with Giorgio's and i loved the view, hated the decor, and thought it was out of our budget. Tall Grass felt too small for our party and Majestic Gardens was also out of our budget. So confusing!

Oh too bad. I called and asked if anything is going on Saturday bc we want to get into the room, and they said there are no events all day saturday 8am-9pm, if you want to somehow stop by Saturday if you find out there are events on sunday.

well if it's up to 9pm we might make it Saturday night!! (We're leaving right after FH gets out of work - i HATE tax season LOL). In which room are you getting married?

FH doesn't do taxes... just ours! and the families. he works at a CPA firm in the tax department doing research! boringggg

ETA: i'm searching through all the posts that have 'swan club' in them but not finding anything about it!

OK i couldn't find it, but if you go onto the '08 boards there is a SC thread that I just bumped and asked them to post how the whole transission works.

There's also other good SC info on there and another link to an older thread.
