FH & I are going to look at some houses tomorrow!!! I'm excited but nervous!!! Everything is so expensive!!!
I am soooo depressed right now!!! This was our 1st time looking at houses. We saw a total of 6 houses and out of the 6 there were 2 that we liked the best. FH loved 1 of them but his reaction was... . He wants a house with a basement, at least 2000 sq ft, at least 2 BR and to be in the 350K price range. Reality check

He just went home b/c he is aggravated and pissed at my sil's comment. (I was on the phone w/ her) She said we would only find a house in the ghetto for that price range. Yeah..so he left and said he'd be over later... I need to laugh b/c if I don't I will cry!!! Now I'm just rambling...anyway...house hunting SUX!!!!!!

I dont know if you are interested in the west hempstead area....My mom has no choice but to sell our house...i think they are going to put it up for around 360...its 4 bedrooms and my brother had a small bedroom in the bathroom with a lounge hang out room...large property and a 4 ft large pool. Its gonna need some fixing up as my dad never finished little things like the sheetrock in certain rooms. Fm if u want more info...she has to be out in 2 weeks so it should be listed by then,.

Ooh, I'd love to live in Port Jeff/Setauket area. I know that FH will probably end up working in NYC though....how long is the train ride? I grew up directly south of Port jeff in Bellport....so I too wanna stay in Suffolk!
I grew up in Port Jeff... it's an hour and a half into the city if you take the Port Jeff line. You might be better off in Ronkonkama. Its an hour if you take the express train and its Sachem SD.

The Ronkonkoma train is about an hour and a half but it's direct, no transfering trains.

I'm not very familiar with the area...but the thing is...FH works in Stamford CT so he doesn't want a commute that is more than 40 miles. but thank you for your help.

I have no idea where I'm going to end up. I work in a hospital in Port Jeff. Fh works in Bayside. I don't really want to go farther west while I'm working there because I work nights and will be stuck in rush hour both ways!

Girl you have nooooo idea. We've been looking at houses for a little over a year now. I want to jump off a cliff it's so frustrating. We were 'this close' to having our very own house 2 weeks ago BUT OF COURSE upon the engineer inspection apparantly there was 'structural damage' and it would end up being a money pit basically...looks gorgeous on the outside but beneath it's a mess apparantly.
