So I just booked my HM for July 2011 only to discover that the 1 excursion I really wanted to do (zip lining) is already booked. am I completely out of luck?

Nope. There are usually other tours when you get the island. They might not always be run my sandals but where we went (St. Lucia) there were people on the beach selling tours that were not affiliated with St. Lucia.

My DH and I booked our excursions when we got to the resort (Antigua) and the only issue we had was a rain delay, not because it was sold out or anything. I dont think you'll be out of luck!

Are there a lot of zip lining tours? Can I get away with booking all our excursions when we get there? I'm shocked they fill up so fast! Is Sandals really that popular? Im starting to feel like it's the McDonalds of honeymoons!

We went to St. Lucia in July. We had the concierge level room and they set up the ziplining for us. I wouldn't go by what you see online because they seemed to be able to accomodate what we wanted to do with no problem.

also, i was afraid that sandals would be very 'mcdonalds' like, as you say and i am super picky. we had the best service, the food was amazing and we had a blast. i wish i live at that place lol

We booked the ziplining when we got down there on a Wednesday for ziplining on Thursday, and it was AWESOME! You have to do it, try and call the resort or the zipline place directly?

What is concierge service? Sorry I just booked through the Sandals web site because they had a 65% off sale..we got one of the deluxe Oceanview rooms..now I can't remember if it had concierge or butler service....does it really matter?
There were so many bad reviews on TripAdvisor I was hesitant to book at all...

you should call and book. when we went to book excursions they were all booked up online but when we called sandals directly we had no problem getting the excursions we wanted!

I would probably wait til you get there so that you can talk to the staff about it. The TA will try to make you book with them so they can make some $$ off of it, but it's really not necessary. I was glad we waited.

omg trip advisor will drive you bananas. i was raised as a bit of a vacation snot, and i was beyond thrilled with sandals (st lucia regency/grande). i posted a review of it, i think the link is on my profile.

don't worry, this happened to me too! I asked my TA and she told me that you can only book a few excursions online and you can book the rest when you get to the resort.
She was 100% correct - We got to take every excursion we wanted to.
