Upset...What would you do?

Upset...What would you do?

I get home & get an urgent message to call my best friend in Texas...I got worried & then call & find out she's pregnant.....Wonderful, except.....(also let me mention the baby was a total surprise & will be her 4th!!!!!!!)

she'll be 6 1/2 months for my wedding
She's in the wedding party
She doesn't know if her doctor (or if she'll) be able to fly
She doesn't know what to do

I'm soooo tossed. I want nothing more than her to be beside me on my wedding day. She was one of the people I was most excited about being there.

BUT

I don't want her to be stressing or what if she orders the dress & then finds out a month or few weeks b4 she can't go (due to preggos or such)

AND FINALLY

She told me it was totally up to me, but from talking to her I kind of got the feel she wanted to drop out w/o having to tell me so......(I don't want to add stress to her)

NOW, what do I do?!?!

I really don't want an uneven bridal party....would you just leave it?

Would you kind of make mention....'can you believe Gina is pregnant......' & see how 'possible bm' responds?

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

I would probably tell her that it should be her decison and that you will understand if she drops out and then see what she says. I know I have heard that you shouldn't fly when you are past a certain point in a pregnancy so maybe her doctor can give her advice.

Cindy..God forbid you have her come up for the wedding and something goes wrong...

Give her an out...and unever BP is not the worst

Re: Upset...What would you do?

why dont youkinda tell her what you just posted. let her know that it would mean so much to you - but you understand her situation. if she really thinks that this will be too stressful than she can drop out (and yes - i think i would probably leave the BP uneven @ this point)

also - set a time frame - say 'i dont expect you to make this decision rigth now - but i do need to know before we order the dresses.' or some other rational time frame.

this is totally terrible - but remember its a 'happy' terrible - she is having a baby and not handing you some lame excuse. i am sure she really wants 2b there as much as you want her there.

i wish you and her the best of luck in figuring this out..

Give her the option to back out.

My bridal party began uneven, then a BM dropped out one month ago, then the next day a GM dropped out. Things happen.

I went thru the same thing with my bridesmaid from Florida. She's due 3 days after my wedding and won't be able to fly (if she hasn't given birth already). Everything will work itself out. i'll pry for you

Unfortunately, the only way for you to not look like a total ***** is to tell her that you understand if she needs to back out and you totally understand. Having an uneven bridal party is SO not a big deal. Tell her that you hope she'll be able to make it to the wedding and maybe give her another special thing to do, like a reading. If she's not able to make it you'll be able to find someone else to fill in, but if she can make it she'll still be able to participate.

I completely agree.

Regardless of whether or not it was an accident, and/or how many she has had, you need to give her the out. Tell her how much it meant to have her there, but you do need to give her the out. Timing stinks!

The situation is what it is... I think the girls are right...she is your friend, and you should tell her you are supportive and leave it up to her. Tell her the most important thing is for her to be there if possible. I know you are dissapointed, but having an uneven BP is really not bad at all, i see it more lately than and even one!!!

It will work out!!!

Totally agree...remember this is her exciting time..just like your wedding is to you.
ask her if she wants to do a reading or something..this way if you have to someone can fill in with no problem

Re: Upset...What would you do?

I couldn't reach her tonight (she was telling her other kiddos & mom) but I sent her an email saying we've been friends since we were 12 & no matter what she decides I'll understand. I told her I'd love for her to be there more than anything but I don't want to add additional stress to what she is feeling. I told her how happy I was for her and said I'll understand no matter what she decides....we'll see. Thanks ladies.

PS--would you just double up 2 guys with 1 girl?
