Urgent - How many of you are planning to..........
feed your band, photographer, videographer, etc????
We went to our catering hall yesterday, and our baquet manager mentioned that we have to feed our band, photographer & videographer, etc. Not only that we have to do that, but we will also pay for them a full price that we are paying for any guest. Honestly, this is something I was not planning on doing, as band alone is 11 people+ others. That would come out to be an additional $2,000 expense before tax & service charge.
Girls, I need opinions!!!!!!!!!!! How many of you are planning on doing it? : Thanks

I know I don't have a choice. I have to pay for it. But my vendors are 1/2 the cost.

I think it's standard to do this. I do believe though that most halls do give you a little bit of a break on the meals b/c it's not like the vendors are going to sit there and eat a full three or four course dinner.

I am having a buffet! But they dont give you any discount on the vendors? Thats alot of money!!! Im sorry i dont know what I would do!

Any RH that I checked out didn't give you a choice either. Our vendors are 1/2 price after our minimum is met.

My vendors are also half the price .... we are going to feed them.
Talk with your hall - maybe they can give your vendors a different menu for a cheaper price for you to pay?

We have to pay to feed our vendors, but they are discounted after we meet our guarantee.

if we dont meet our guarantee, we can have them count as guests and pay full price, otherwise they are half price..

This is a good question- our caterer provides snacks for the band and photographer, but it's not the full meal. Hrm.

Did you talk to your vendors to find out what they want you to do? I have heard many bands prefer cash (like 10-15pp) so they can grab something they want...since all they would ever eat is catering hall food.

Same here. I don't think that it's an option. My DOC, photog and videographer will be with us all day I can't imagine not feeding them.

I thought Watermill was 2/3 of the full price for vendors? Maybe it's 1/2 price for their vendors?
I am feeding my Photog's and Dj's. I have heard plenty of other people have had them eat in the cocktail hour only. It's your choice but you should not pay full price unless you did not meet your minimun. I would negotiate with your BM.

I think you kind of have to? I mean, they will be there for hours, I would think they need to eat soemthing? In our contract with our photographer it says if he isnt offered to eat then he charges us an extra $50

we have to pay for our vendors too if they are not house vendors.. if they are house vendors its half price! We have to pay cause they have to eat and its the right thing to do
