feed your band, photographer, videographer, etc????

We went to our catering hall yesterday, and our baquet manager mentioned that we have to feed our band, photographer & videographer, etc. Not only that we have to do that, but we will also pay for them a full price that we are paying for any guest. Honestly, this is something I was not planning on doing, as band alone is 11 people+ others. That would come out to be an additional $2,000 expense before tax & service charge.

Girls, I need opinions!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't have a choice either. I believe it's discounted and we only pay half BUT I have a 9 piece band plus one photographer and videographer so it's sure gonna add up!!!!

You should ask you band and other vendors what they want to do but it is standard to feed your vendors. They may say that they would rather eat somewhere else before your reception and not to worry.

Most halls charge 1/2 price for vendors. Some do not charge at all of yoy select their recomended vendors.

Same here. I don't think that it's an option. My DOC, photog and videographer will be with us all day I can't imagine not feeding them.

ditto , we are feeding the band, & photographer/video.. same company , but our hall is charging us 1/2 for the vendors,,

I am doing it but im using the recommended vendors and they are free... Id be PISSEEEDDD if i had to pay full price for vendors. I would try to talk them down to 1/2 price...

You should definitely be getting a discount on your vendors. They are not going to be eating every course. I would talk to the catering hall again and see if they can lower the price if it is agreed that the vendors will only eat the main course.

Our photographer actually said he doesn't want to be fed via RH. He won't have the time to eat so he says he usually bring a bag lunch/dinner and eat in between ceremony/reception etc. His assistant is also doing the same.

You should ask if they all need to be fed?

I have to do it too. We have to pay 1/2 price for any of their recommended vendors and full price for non-recommended. This is one of the reasons we went with a DJ instead of a band.

my vendors are half price and I think you really need to pay for them to eat...I just think its the right thing to do.

I would talk to Terrace on the Park and ask them why they are not giving you the vendors half price, I thought that was the standard?

yes my vendors are half the cost and if they're recommended by the hall then they're free. so lucky us, our photg and dj are vendors they recommend. woohoo!!

Also check your contracts for various vendors. Our photographer and DJ have in the contract that they should be offered a meal, and we pay half for them once our guarentee number of guests are met.

We did it.....yes its lots of $$$ but these ppl are there with you all day so how can you not feed them?!

we used Duet i paid for them too eat and they didnt even bother to sit down and eat! So before you go pay for these ppl make sure they do want the dinner!

First you should check your contract to see if Food is in it. Secondly, my opinion totally- I feel like you need to feed these vendors esp. your photographer.....He/she is with you for about 12 hours for the day...

in my hall house vendors are free
other vendors (all of mine) are half price
