we had a great time in fl when we went in 2001. and we really want to go to new orleans for our hm. but i'm getting a hard time from my sister who tells me n.o. is not a 'honeymoon place.' what does she know??

In my opinion its not either. But if that is somewhere that you want to go then GO! Don't let anyone tell you different. My mom and dad and our friend Brian has been there and they say its not that nice and dirty. BUT I still would like to go one day!!!!

you're right, its not the place you would think of when you say honeymoon. but its where we want to go, so nuts to her!

EXACTLY!!! You definetly should do what YOU want to do. Its your wedding and honeymoon not hers or mine! GO FOR IT!

My parents went to pennsylvania where the Amish live for their honeymoon 34 years ago.

Re: Vacations

I am not a resort person I am a get up and go vacation person. I like just cramming as much as possible in. Hubby likes to wake up late and get his day startye4d at 11:00 on vacation. Im like we spend money to go away I want to get going. Thats why we leave a few days to recoup when we come home from wherever we go.

As far as vacations i like resorts they are so much easier especially with the kids. ( money smart too).

I think if I were going all the way out west like that, I'd rather go to California.

Re: Vacations

I love ALL kinds of vacations. I spent ever summer and winter until I was about 15 in England - literally been everywhere there is to go there (also lived in London for a while). And of course Ireland.

I've been to France, Belgium, Spain, Monaco (can that count as a country!!) and Germany. And quite a few here in the states (I DO think that visiting some states is a fun vacation!!). I can't wait to visit Italy and Greece one day. FH and I will be going to Malta on our honeymoon.

FH and I want to visit Russia (his pick, as he's part Russian), and take the Trans-Siberian Express to Asia. I also want to go to Australia, Austria, Switzerland... We also want to drive across the US (he's dying to see Montana), and I want to see California since I've never been. HI was fabulous and I cant wait to go back.

I love 'adventurous' vacations as well as ones where the day is spent laying by the pool. I wish I was on one now!!

Hey, you asked the questions. I answered it. You made an assumption, I corrected your assumption and now I'm crazy? I'm trying to figure out your rationale on that one.
