Valenia where have you been?
I haven't seen a post from you in a while, it's nice to see one the 'old timers' back! I have been on this board for a year now!! Your at your 6 month point right? How are plans? Are you set with all of your vendors? Did you happen to see the Carlyle on the cover of Golf Digest? It had a feature on the club and the preparations it has gone through for the Open.I hope you had a great holiday season, keep in touch!

Valenia where have you been?
I haven't seen that Golf Digest, I'll have to find it! (My wedding is two weeks after the open so the preparations being made will be seen at my wedding!) Sorry I haven't been around too much -- I've gotten so much settled that I ran out of questions to ask hehehehe.... Since we last spoke I booked my florist -- In Full Bloom which is fabulous... 6 months is right! I'm so excited!

Beautiful!!!
Your dress is stunning! And I love the BM dresses, my MOH is looking for something similar to yours- I'll have to pass the info on to her. We have our invites picked out, we just have to order them.I'm always teasing my finance about how I'm going to go through wedding planning withdrawal.Well, I guess then you plan for the house, then the kids, then retirement! We alomost went with Creative Compositions, they have beautiful work. Did you pick out your centerpieces?bouquet? We are using pastel roses and the invitations will be done in cream and gold, these will be our colors. We don't really have a theme, but we will pull in the pastels and gold and cream into the decor. I saw a cake I loved in Martha's wedding mag, and I remember the Carlyle saying if you bring a picture they can create that cake.Have you set up a time to go in for a tasting?Because your from Boston, where will you stay for your wedding night? We are probably saying at the Wyndam Windwatch, that is where I blocked rooms, but they don't reserve the bridal suite until 4 weeks prior. Since we are getting married on a Friday we are going to host a bunch for out of town guests on Sat. rest on Sunday and leave for Italy on Monday.Keep me posted! Continued success to all...

Beautiful!!!
We didn't picked a stand for the centerpieces, but not a particular design. We talked about colors and style preferences, but are giving the flower designer some room for creativity. The bouquets will be clutch, with mostly roses (lavender, pink, and tan, mine with a touch of burgundy cala lillies to match the BM dresses). What florist are you using by the way? Are your centerpieces going to be low or raised? I haven't thought too much about the cake yet, thats going to be a fun choice -- I love decisions that don't cost MORE money. LOL We haven't set up a time for a tasting/menu decision yet. Any idea when thats supposed to be? We booked our block of rooms at the Huntington Hilton, but we probably won't stay there. I am considering the new Fox Hollow Inn which has bridal suites, and is very close to my parents house. I didn't even know there was a Wyndam in the area! How far is it from Carlyle? By the way, do you know the date of the Golf Digest issue with the Carlyle?

details...
I believe the Golf Digest was June or July(the cover said 'One Year to Go'. Cakes- yes, it is wonderful that it is included. I've seen some beautiful pictures of their cakes! I have total faith in anything they touch there. Florist- Stefan's. Very professional. and eager to work with our budget. Raised centerpieces, pastel roses w/ mixed greens. We played w/ the idea of doing low and raised, but decided to just go for all raised.Bouquets will be handtied round(is this the same as clutch?) the BM's will have pastel roses, and I will have all pink roses w/ stephanotis(sp?) and lemon leaves along the bottom. tasting- I'm not sure, but I think it is a few months before. accomodations- we also blocked rooms at the Hilton, but got the same price at Wyndam and they have a much nicer facility. It is about 40 min. away, but we are thinking of renting buses to transport the guests.Or possibly guest shuttles from the hotel. The Hilton was located close to the reception, but not the church.Where is the new Fox Hollow place? I'll have to check into it. Keep me posted- I missed sharing ideas with you. Continued success to all...

Fox Hollow Inn
The Fox Hollow Inn is in Woodbury on Jericho Turnpike right next to the Fox Hollow catering hall. Its about 10 minutes from the Carlyle. It hasn't opened yet but it sounds like their bridal suites (and they have a bunch) will be nice - not jacuzzis or anything over the top like that - just antique style furniture etc.. I think its $185ish for the suites, $155 for their regular rooms.
