Can anyone think of a fun and preferably inepensive weekend (Fri-Sun) getaway that I can get for Rocco for V-Day??? He likes when I do little planned events for presents instead of tangible gifts, plus we get to both enjoy it I was thinking either a road trip somewhere (no ideas yet) or a night in the city then dinner and a show (but it seems silly to spend so much $ for a hotel in the city when it's so close). I thought the Poconos at first but for the room I liked it's like $500 a night, $1500 is a little beyond my means for a weekend getaway! Does anyone have any ideas?

DONT go to Marthas this time of year! Take it from a resident of Boston (ewww, I can't believe I said that!) It's frickin freeeeeeeeeeeeeezing.
FH and I went to Mystic Seaport for a weekend at an AWESOME B&B. It was a ton of fun, and a cute little quaint place. Its only a few hours away ANDDDDDDDD its only 1 exit from Fox Woods - so if you wanna go out to the casino one night its right there! FM me for info!

How bout Lake George? It's beautiful there and its not peak season???
PS. Denise I LOVE Ocean City!!! We have been going there every labor day since we met! SEACRETS!
I was going to suggest the same thing! Me and Fh love Lake George, we go there every summer for our anniversary.
only about 4 hours away, but since it will prob be cold, maybe you can find a hotel or something with a fireplace, that could be fun.

There are a ton of beach areas like the girls here recommended, but a lot of stuff in beach areas are closed this time of year...what about Philadelphia?? I go there all of the time (where my MOH lives) and its a ton of fun at night when we go out and theres a ton to do during the day from tours to visiting the art museum to tons of historical things. You can have a nice romantic weekend away. If you go, I would totally suggest going to South Street and doing some shopping in all of the little stores and boutiques. Also in the same area is Olde City which has a lot of fabulous restaurants, bars, shops and art gallerys.

Id either do Mohegan Sun or just a night in the City (do like dinner and then stay overnight) Nothing beat V-day in the city i think. Make a reservation at a fancy restaurant! If your willing to spring a bit more, fly down to miami, you can get really cheap flight from spiritair.com or jetblue.com.
