Vegas anyone? long

Vegas anyone? long

Our honeymoon budget shrinks in direct proportion to the growth of the wedding. So, FH has convinced me go to Las Vegas. I'm still worried it won't be romantic, but I am trying to make the best of it, because we can do it really cheap. My parents are giving us timeshare points so we don't have to pay for the hotel, which is a huge money saver.

FYI, I have never been there.

I was toying with the idea of staying in a fancy room for one night. Do you guys think its worth it, or should we spend it on something else? We will have some extra money to play with anyway. Also, we are going to do one fancier diner (maybe $100 a plate?) Can anyone recommend a place (FH will really only eat steak and potatoes, but I want something fun). TIA!

I'm vegas queen...been there 8 times and LOVE IT!!! I actually think it can be very romantic, there are so many options there for great dinners, shows, etc. You can lay by the pool and get drinks, rent a pool cabana for just the 2 of you, etc. I say absolutely go for it. You can get a really awesome room for not crazy expensive because that's just the way vegas is, they want to get you there then they want you to spend your money int he casinos.
As far as hotels, each hotel will have nice upgrade rooms, suites etc I always stay at the Mirage, I love it because of many things, the location is AMAZING, the pool is sick, they have an amazing adult pool, great club and restaurants. The Palazzo across the street is also awesome, I suggest going to eat at Lavo there. If you want something fun go eat at Tao in the Venetian. The pool at Cesars is also amazing!!....I can give you a ton of recommendations...HTH!

I'm totally clueless so any help would be great. I have to keep FH out of the casinos or we are hitchhiking home! You have given me a lot to research, thanks!

Well if you're not big on the casino's you can stay in a hotel that doesn't have one....the Trump Hotel in vegas is to die for...and they don't have a casino..otherwise you'll be trecking through that casino every day multiple times a day in the other hotels lol

I've gone to Vegas several times and it def. can be very romantic. You don't have to get a 'nice' room for one night but instead, treat yourself and stay in a nicer hotel (Bellagio, Wynn, Encore, Cosmopolitan, Aria, Venetian, Pallazzo etc.) Even the 'regular' rooms are insane. FYI - Venetian is actually all suites so that's something to look into. If you'd rather stay away from the casino's, trump and the four seasons are nice alternatives.

There are plenty of things to do in Vegas that don't involve partying. You can go for a couple's massage, take a helicopter ride, go to the Hoover Dam, Grand Canyon, go see the shows, romantic meals (I can recommend a few places).

I keep telling FH that I want to go there for a few days with him b/c whenever I have gone with the girls, it was basically just to party.

I'm going on my mini-moon to Las Vegas! We are staying at Paris because we are stopping in Paris on the honeymoon in July! (I know I'm super corny ) So trust me I L-O-V-E Las Vegas but I just wanted to throw this out there. If the timeshare is good in other places too is it really that much cheaper? I always found Vegas to be affordable because you can get really nice hotel rooms for reasonable prices. I don't know though. it was just what popped into my head!

We are planning to do a couple of really nice dinners and some shows. We love Cirque du Soleil so we want to do two of them and I'm dying to see Penn and Teller (not so romantic but I love them.) Out of all the shows of seen their my favorite has been LOVE at the Mirage. There are so many good restaurants there and steakhouses galore so you will definitely get a nice meal. I told FH we could do the Buffet of Buffets too which gives you access to 7 buffets for 24 hours. I'm sure you'll have a blast!

I wouldn't bother with a fancier room just for one night, I'd use the $ maybe for a spa treatment for two. I've never been to Vegas, would love to go. I'm sure it can be very romantic especially since it will just be the two if you and not a group of friends partying.

crashing...

I was just in Vegas for my bach party...and while i had an amazing time, I def thought to myself that Id love to go back with FH soon to be DH sometime and do it together

plenty of nice restaurants and shows to see
you can do the grand canyon and do a helicopter tour, so romantic imo!

also if youre not into the casino, i just stayed at the Vdara and it was amazing! very affordable for the how nice the hotel was. all the rooms are suites, some of them with views of the bellagio fountain show. the hotel is set back a tiny bit from the strip but it wasn't a big deal for us, it was super close to the bellagio, so we would take the walkway that connects Vdara to Bellagio
its really only one building back from the strip
the hotel was gorgeous and the staff were soo nice!

def eat at yellowtail at the bellagio(if you like sushi/japanese) you can sit outside on the terrace and get a view of the fountains
most tables from the restaurant have a view.

also not so romantic but hte burger bar in mandalay bay, the most amazing burger i ever had

i say go for it! esp if its affordable for you!

we ideally wanted to go to hawaii, but we had a timeshare also we could use, so we went to mexico instead...its really not about where you go, its about what you make of it! all you really want is quality time with your new hubby!
