Veil and Tiara- How to proceed...

Okay, I am ready to move on to my next venture- the veil and tiara.... Couple of questions for those who have been here....

1. where in the city do I go to?
2. what should I be looking to spend for something very pretty?
3. How do you buy without your dress in front of you? Or shoes? Does it matter?

Marisa, in the city, you could go to C&H. It's on 39th street, between 7 & 8th.

At C&H. My cathedral chiffon veil will cost me $95, I now have to find out how much extra for a blusher.

I think it all depends on what you're looking for. Headpieces can get expensive, the one I was originally going to buy was going to cost me $145, but then Shamma let me borrow hers,

Bring a pic of your dress with you, so you can make sure it matches.

Marisa, make sure that you know what kind of decoration your dress has (pearls, crystals, rhinestones, or a fabric design). Then look to match the design.

I have found C&H regular veils to be a bit stiff, but I think I am picky. Also C&H told me to buy my own fabric, and then they'll make the veil for me if I don't want the tulle that they provide. They have a lot of headpieces.

Also try Metropolitan Implex on 6th ave, b/w 35th and 36th for both veils and headpieces, and there is one more store, on 6th ave, b/w 30th and 31st streets, on the east side, they have a tonn of headpieces, and also make veils. I liked their veil fabric better. And they also sell gloves if you need them.

For gloves, I recommend waiting until you have a swatch of your dress, b/c otherwise you may buy the wrong ones (like I did).

I have expensive tastes so I wasnt really able to find anything I liked that was in my budget. Either it was so expensive or it looked like crap to me.

So I bought my veil (custom made by www.glamgal.com) and headpiece (www.naugi.com) online. The quality was better, the price was definitely cheaper and their return policies are much better than any retail bridal place.
