Veil At Reception - Poll!

I am so undeceided what to do. Part of me thinks that it is one day, I will never do it again, another says it will probably annoy me... What do you think

My thought is I'm only going to be a bride once in my life so I'm going to milk it for everything it's worth! And also, every wedding I've ever been to where the bride has removed her veil; her hair has gotten destroyed from removing it. So I wouldn't reccomend it but that's just me.

I wore it at the beginning and then removed it; if your hair person knows you plan to take it off, she will make it so that it's easy:


I wore it for the first dance; then I took it off. I also wanted to show off the updo!

I actaully never thought of it... I always just assumed that you don't wear it at the reception, but that is most likely b/c I don't want to wear it at the reception.

But now that you ask the question... it made me think.

How about just for the 1st dance???? and then take it off... (JUST THE VEIL!!!! HEHEHHE )

ETA... Lanabean beat me too it...!!!!

i had a LONG cathedral length veil so there was no way i was wearing it all night long. i wore it only up until we were finished with taking pics at the hall and then took it off. but i had my veil and tiara custom made with the velcro so that it wouldnt mess up my hair when i took it off. they just put a strip of velcro on the veil and tiara and then it was EASY to take off. no problems at all!

my plan is to wear it all day and night....but i will have my hair girl make it so that if i did want it off at 1 point it wont be an issue!!

i kept mine on, but it was a simple elbow length veil---no poof. it didnt annoy me at all and i felt more bridey with it on. looked good in pics.

I'm wearing a mantilla. The way it drapes it will annoy the heck out of me if I attempt to wear it all night. I ordered a veil on a stick, so it can be removed without ruining my hair.

I wore mine the entire time. It was in the back of my hair so it wasn't annoying but I also wanted to wear it because I figured it was only one day. I loved my veil so much I didn't want to take it off.

I hadn't thought about it before the wedding, but I did keep it on the whole reception. It didn't bother me at all and I was dancing the whole night.

I think you are ok either way, it is just a matter of preference.
