Keeping it on the entire night. My feeling is.. you are only a bride once in your lifetime..you'll only get to wear it once.....why not relish it and keep it on all night....

Re: Veil during reception
Right now I'm thinking the whole night..but I might take it off towards the end of the night.

Re: Veil during reception
I only wore mine during my ceremony, but I also had a cathedral length veil....pretty difficult to maneuver while you're dancing. I could have gotten a fingertip, but I wanted to be veil free at the reception. Do whatever you like.

Re: Veil during reception
I took mine off and put in a hair piece after cocktail hour. I didn't want to wory about leaving it on while dancing and hugging people.

Re: Veil during reception
I took the cathedral off after the ceremony. Half way during the reception, I took off the fingertip. I got tired of it catching when people hugged me or danced with me. I do regret not putting it back on when we took some later pictures outdoors when the sun finally came out. Completely forgot about it.

Re: Veil during reception
I hadf planned on wearing mine for longer but it kept getting stuck to the beading in my dress. It was pulling on my hair so i couldnt . I took it off right after the cocktail hour.

Re: Veil during reception
I plan on taking it off right after our first dance...I was on the fence about wearing one at all so this was a good compromise for me.

Re: Veil during reception
I am thinking I will leave it on all night. I have decided to get a silk chiffon / organza veil instead of a tulle one - they lay straighter and I would think won't get stuck on anything, etc. So as long as the comb isn't bothering me, etc, I will leave it on.

Re: Veil during reception
Mine is cathedral length so I am only wearing it for the ceremony. Then I am switching to a flower in my hair for the rest of the night.

Re: Veil during reception
Funny cause I said i was taking it off after the first dance. I didnt want to wear the thing all night. Well, after the first dance I said what the hell and kept it on all night. I didnt even know it was there. It wasnt annoying me or anything!

Re: Veil during reception
I had cathedral length, but even if I hadn't, I would have taken it off before the CH/reception. It felt like such a weight was lifted off me once I took it off and bustled my dress! It was much more comfortable walking around, dancing, hugging people, etc. But, if you have always envisioned yourself wearing your veil throughout the whole day, then go for it! Totally your preference.
